Lizzie Bennet Diaries
I'm probably way behind on this, but I must give my props to Ashley Clements and Mary Kate Wiles. Both of their voice acting in The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet and The Epic Adventures of Lydia Bennet are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
When I was first listening to the books, I had to double-check that only one person was narrating because they sounded so much like the other characters.
Both have an amazing Jane as well.

in case you needed to hear it today:
it’s okay to use your turn signal when you’re changing lanes
it’s okay to use your turn signal when you’re taking an exit
it’s okay to use your turn signal when you plan on turning (can even be done sooner than 2 seconds before you’re about to turn)
you have a turn signal. in your vehicle. two of them in fact.
you are so brave and beautiful and smart and can do it. using your turn signal

Just came across an episode of the 60′s Addams Family TV show where the Addamses take in a greaser motorcycle punk and, as you would expect, are absolutely delighted to have him as a houseguest.
And, like, the normal episode formula for this show so far has been “Some new normie meets the Addams family with some sort of ulterior motive, gets freaked out, and eventually abandons their schemes out of fear.”  But while the episode began in that direction, the greaser actually starts to like the family because, you know, they accept him for who he is.
It turns out his dad is trying to track him down and make him conform to societal standards, and the Addamses, not knowing this, invite the dad over for a birthday party they’re throwing for the kid.  And though the dad is also initially put off by the Adams family, he sees how his son loves them because they loved him unconditionally, and is shamed into opening his mind towards his son.
And fuck, man, it got me because I did not expect something that earnest from a 60′s sitcom, especially one as gleefully irreverent as this one.  The tumblr posts are right, the Addamses would accept you for who you are.

Curious about how to send research to the International Space Station or how to get involved with NASA missions as a college student? Ask our experts!
Through our Student Payload Opportunity with Citizen Science, or SPOCS, we’re funding five college teams to build experiments for the International Space Station. The students are currently building their experiments focusing on bacteria resistance or sustainability research. Soon, these experiments will head to space on a SpaceX cargo launch! University of Idaho SPOCS team lead Hannah Johnson and NASA STEM on Station activity manager Becky Kamas will be taking your questions in an Answer Time session on Thurs., June 3, from 12-1 p.m. EDT here on our Tumblr! Make sure to ask your question now by visiting http://nasa.tumblr.com/ask. Hannah Johnson recently graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. She is the team lead for the university’s SPOCS team, Vandal Voyagers I, designing an experiment to test bacteria-resistant polymers in microgravity. Becky Kamas is the activity manager for STEM on Station at our Johnson Space Center in Houston. She helps connect students and educators to the International Space Station through a variety of opportunities, similar to the ones that sparked her interest in working for NASA when she was a high school student. Student Payload Opportunity with Citizen Science Fun Facts:
Our scientists and engineers work with SPOCS students as mentors, and mission managers from Nanoracks help them prepare their experiments for operation aboard the space station.
The Vandal Voyagers I team has nine student members, six of whom just graduated from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Designing the experiment served as a senior capstone project.
The experiment tests polymer coatings on an aluminum 6061 substrate used for handles on the space station. These handles are used every day by astronauts to move throughout the space station and to hold themselves in place with their feet while they work.
The University of Idaho’s SPOCS project website includes regular project updates showing the process they followed while designing and testing the experiment.
Make sure to follow us on Tumblr for your regular dose of space: http://nasa.tumblr.com.

Nobody:
Literally nobody:
Me: Ishizu’s past got the least narrative focus of the Ishtar siblings, but she was more than likely severely neglected. Her father didn’t want her any more than he wanted Rishid, and even though she wasn’t physically abused like him, or tormented with the same grim responsibility as Marik, she most likely received no love or affection aside from what the siblings could offer each other in their early youth. She was too young when their mother died to have known her like Rishid had, and based on the way Marik seemed to look up to her as an authority figure, and the way she tirelessly dedicated her early life to trying to save him, I’d peg her with eldest daughter syndrome as well
When her brothers left, what did such a young girl with no parents or guardians have left? Just the millenium tauk? How traumatic was it to have just watched her father be murdered (abusive scum or not, oh my GOD), been abandoned by her brothers, and to suddenly just know everything that would happen in the next ten or something years? (SHE JUST KNEW her future!! How bad would that fuck up a mature little kid’s BRAIN??)
She saw a predestined path and had nowhere else to go, no other lead in life to follow, and so everything she did from then on was probably just like following instructions. Did she experience passion for anything but the goal she pursued in those years? Could a woman with nothing to her name but an ancient artifact really obtain such an important museum position at ONLY age 20 without focusing single-mindedly on it for years prior? Do you think she had interests and hobbies she ignored or let go of throughout her teens just to do what she believed she was meant to? Do you think anybody ever HUGGED her???
Even after reuniting with her brothers, do you think she’d even know how to share affection with them after years of nothing but chasing after their future? Do you think she even knows how to make friends or meaningful connections in her life?? Do you think she even knows how to care for her own emotional well-being, rather than living life on a very meticulous, peer-serving agenda????? I may not remember all the little details from the series well because I’ve gotten the different versions mixed up over time, but even if there are little wrong details in here, in this Fucking essay, I will–

the funny thing about the whole "no one wants to work" trend is that this is, hypothetically, how wages are supposed to go up naturally under capitalism. When wages are too low, workers refuse to work, so businesses raise their wages. The problem is that american companies are so used to paying people scraps and so far removed from the idea of workers having any kind of power or demanding some degree of dignity that they're just completely dumbfounded by this. When everyone refuses to work, their first instinct isn't "oh, our wages are too low" it's to post signs complaining about kids these days and begging people to pwease pwease come back to work I pwomise you won't get the cowonaviwus whiwe being yewwed at by a woman who compwains they made hew food wrong and demands a comped dessewt befowe leaving you a $2 tip
