Timeline
♥ Born in Atoel Village along with an older twin, and raised communally with other Viera children.
♥ Had a relatively quiet childhood up until she was sixteen when her twin sibling vanished. When asked, she was never given a straight answer, even told by other members of the village that Hinrik had died out hunting, but no body was found. Disgruntled with no proper answers from even her parents, she left Atoel Village with naught but the clothes on her back and an axe.
♥ She lands in Limsa Lominsa first, and starts asking questions. Viera are uncommon still in Eorzea, so while her exact descriptions don’t match anyone currently widely known, one particular woman stands out. While waiting for more leads, Hral joins the Marauders Guild, and hones her skills with an axe.
♥ After news of the merry, if not dysfunctional, band of Warriors of Light have succeeded in their missions, Hral does more digging and learns more about their Viera Black Mage, and goes out on a limb. Sending a letter anonymously, she asks to meet with the woman. When they meet, Hikari recognizes her sister immediately, and they have a lovely, joyous reunion.
♥ Hral is incredibly happy for her older sister, despite some stumbling and admissions that it was hard to retroactively think of the jumpy older brother in the jungle as the woman that stands before her - Hikari assures her that while she always identified as a woman, Hinrik is just as important as a part of her as herself currently.
♥ After the Warriors return from the First, she is devastated to see her sister so injured and down, but does her best to help out as much as she can. She learns Eorzean Sign Language quickly, and even acts as a translator at times when out in public.
♥ For their 20th nameday, Hral plans a large family reunion - after sending a few letters back home to tell her parents just what Hikari has become to the world, they resolve to also leave and live in Eorzea as a whole family once more.

Timeline
♥ Born in Atoel Village along with a twin sister, and raised communally with other Viera children.
♥ Grew aware of gender identity prior to puberty, and fought against training to simply melt into the jungle to protect the village for life.
♥ At about 15, began taking odd jobs to collect and save up gil, including most of the hunting as well as prostitution with the very few outsiders that came through the jungle.
♥ At 16, received a Fantasia potion and chose a city name from a multitude of books that had begun to accrue: Hikari Poole, light shining on water.
♥ Leaves Golmore and Othard in general for Eorzea pre-ARR. Settles in Ul’dah where she continues sex work until receiving an offer to join the Order of Nald’thal as a Thaumaturge. She accepts, eager to learn how to defend herself; being a Viera in Eorzea was an uncommon experience, and many people looked at her as an exotic new thing to fawn over and touch.
♥ Upon meeting the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, she becomes infatuated with Y’shtola Rhul.
♥ Begins to rise in ranks in the Order, and is bequeathed the Gem of Shatotto, opening the first doors to her ascension as the Black Mage of prophecy.
♥ Doesn’t meet most of the group until around Titan, although had run into Summer Kazehana once or twice through her travels. She is shy and timid and a bit distrustful, but does her best to pull her weight.
♥ By the end of ARR, has opened up more to the group and begun to learn more about then and from them.
♥ Upon meeting Aymeric and Lucia, blurts out an embarrassing “Step on me” to Lucia, and promptly excuses herself from the rest of that meeting in her embarrassment.
♥ Through the events of Heavensward, begins to get feelings for Kokejin, and it brings her no small amount of stress at the thought.
This comes to a head after fighting Bismarck, where Hikari grabs Kokejin by the face once they’re alone and kisses him.
♥ This marks the start of a mostly-sexual relationship between the two of them, which continues for an extended amount of time.
♥ Hikari’s self-esteem takes a hit as she debates her usefulness to the group, and despite her aversion to direct violence, briefly takes up the Dark Arts. The stint doesn’t last very long.
♥ She begins to occasionally think of home after the events of Heavensward, the thought of traveling to Othard brings a knot to her stomach that she didn’t expect to feel, despite knowing they would be quite far from her birthplace.
♥ Grows increasingly frustrated with Lyse Hext over the course of the events of Stormblood, more than once having choice words about her decisions, sometimes to her face, sometimes in the privacy of her own company.
♥ Not long after the liberation of both Doma and Ala Mhigo, she receives an anonymous letter to travel to La Noscea. She is greeted by a familiar face when she arrives; her younger twin sister, Hral, who had left Golmore herself not long ago to track down her elder twin.
♥ When arriving on the First, the excess of Light aether immediately takes its tool on Hikari, being more tilted towards darkness naturally; she falls ill and grows quieter, sluggishly lagging behind the group more than usual. She finds herself fearing her fellow Warriors of Light. She starts expending her mana constantly in attempts to stave off the feverish feeling that follows her and only gets stronger as time goes on.
♥ She is devastated at being mistaken for a Lightwarden by Y’shtola, and despite her glee at being able to see the Miqo’te again, spends much of her time in the Greatwood instead. Has conversations about how much it reminds her of Golmore.
♥ In the final fight with Hades, with her mana all but expended and fighting to stay upright for most of it, a careless mistake gets her throat slashed - she is nearly completely decapitated, and almost bleeds to death on the ground if not for quick thinking from their healers.
Her vocal cords all but completely severed, she is rendered mute by the ordeal. Exertion and any kind of excessive noisemaking with her throat causes intense pain and sometimes bleeding.
♥ At this point, her relationship with Kokejin quietly ends, with both of them thankful for the time they did spend together, but quite content with remaining as family rather than intimately involved.
She requests that when they are both sufficiently healed, he teach her properly in the ways of a Dark Knight. He accepts, and keeps his word. His training is hard and grueling, but she learns much from him and starts to gradually overcome her phobia and become a decent swordswoman in her own right.
♥ Eventually does confess to Y’shtola, albeit tearfully and anxiously with her inability to speak. They have some bumps along the way in figuring out how to best communicate, but begin to develop their own tactile language unique to the both of them.
♥ Eventually invites Lyse to join them as a triad, now that things in Ala Mhigo had settled down and Lyse had matured some.
