Krycek is such a good antagonist because we never quite learn what exactly his real motivation is. I will accept any and all explanations ranging from "wants to advance to Big Bad Crime Boss" over "trying to assert his masculinity through aggression (for fear of not conforming to the standards of normative heterosexuality)" to "praise kink (good boy! such a good job with that murder!)"

Mulder grinning like an idiot whenever scully starts a monologue about the gory details of a death is just sooooo. The fact that theyre not throwing themselves at each other in any given scene is astounding to me

Love how Skinner is in on the delusion of their relationship. Like when either one of them come to him asking for help to save the other he does that stare deeply in their face thing for just a little too long, like he knows exactly what they’re asking and why they’re asking it. He's like are they in love? YES! Are they together? NO! Are they married? YES.

scully crying when diana died is truly one of my favorite moments of her character…she hated “that woman” so much and diana was so awful, but in the end, it was diana that saved mulder’s life. the way that scully just says “i’m sorry. i’m so sorry. i know she was your friend.” and hugs him and cries. she hated her so much, but diana was important to mulder, so she’s mourned.

I’ve never jived with the idea that Fox Mulder is a sex machine or, forgive the pun, a fox. I think he wants to be when he’s a young man. He studies how to be that person, approximates most of the right moves, and then the thrill is gone. He ditches more lunch dates and regular dates than he actually attends, and that plus the spooky appellation through the FBI means that through the grapevine he acquires a reputation as hard to get at best, a cad at worst. If you think about it, did he ever really see a healthy romantic relationship growing up? Sure, his parents loved one another once upon a time but there were secrets upon secrets between them both, and after Samantha was taken everything crumbled. Fox Mulder is not a stud. Fox Mulder is a mess.
