This is a companion blog to the Tiara Mania website which is an encyclopedia of royal and famous tiaras. The database now covers over 500 tiaras and I'll be alerting you here on Tumblr every time one of those tiaras is worn. Also, I love to answer questions but my asks are very backed up right now so it probably won't be answered quickly. Navigation/Tag Page

Lady Violet is the eldest daughter of the 11th Duke of Rutland and William is the heir of the 16th Earl of Lindsay.

She wore the Rutland Tiara which is massive and has been in the Manners family for a very long time. It is designed to look like fuchsias and carnations in a wreath. The tiara has been altered at some point since this photo was taken so that it is worn with the large central element at the top and there is a spray of diamonds coming out of it. It’s been that way for a while and I don’t know when the change was made.

Her gown is by Phillipa Lepley and the bridesmaids dresses are by Alessandra Rich.

The reception was held at Belvoir Castle which belongs to the bride’s family.

TIARA ALERT: Lady Violet Manners wore the Rutland Tiara for her wedding to William Lindesay-Bethune, Viscount Garnock, at St Mary the Virgin's Church in Bottesford, Leicestershire, United Kingdom on 21 June 2025.

The tiara was a wedding present to Princess Louise, Princess Royal, Duchess of Fife in 1889 from her parents, King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.
youtube
It is still owned by the current Duke of Fife and is on long term loan to Historic Royal Palaces where it is on display at Kensington Palace.

The tiara was recently worn by Camille Ascoli for her wedding to George's older brother, Lord Charles Carnegie, Earl of Southesk. Per Saad from The Royal Watcher it was taken out of the exhibition twice, first for their French wedding in September 2020 and again for their Scottish wedding in 2021 at Kinnaird Castle. I don't know which ceremony this picture is from but if feels more Scottish to me.

TIARA ALERT: Matilda St Aubyn wore the Duchess of Fife's Fringe Tiara for her wedding to Lord George Carnegie at St Paul’s Church in Ashford Hill, Berkshire, United Kingdom on 7 June 2025.

Upcoming Kent Wedding

Lady Marina Windsor has announced her engagement with Nico Macauley! No date for the wedding has been set yet but of course I'm already thinking about which tiara she will wear.

My prediction is the Duchess of Kent's Pearl Fringe Tiara.

The tiara belongs to her grandmother, Katharine, and is the only tiara we've ever seen worn by her mother, Sylvana Tomaselli Windsor, Countess of St. Andrews.

It was previously used as a bridal tiara by her aunt, Lady Helen Windsor, for her wedding to Tim Taylor in 1992.

Lady Marina's ring appears to be a sapphire with baguette cut diamonds on each side. I like that she kept with the tradition of sapphires in the family. Her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother all had sapphire engagement rings.

The British royal family as a whole also have a long history of sapphire engagement rings. I'm sure this isn't even all of the blue sapphires and Princess Eugenie has a padparadscha sapphire ring which is a pinkish color.
Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother/Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent
The Duchess of Kent/Princess Alexandra of Kent
Princess Anne from Mark Philips/Princess Michael of Kent
Princess Anne from Timothy Laurence/Countess of St. Andrews
Princess Diana/Princess Catherine

Lady Marina's ring reminds me of my favorite royal engagement ring ever which is the step-cut Kashmir sapphire ring made by Cartier for her great-grandmother and namesake, Princess Marina. So this is really this is just an excuse to look at it some more.

Mansour is from a wealthy Swiss family that makes precious metal ingots, bars, and bullion. I want to make and Ea-nasir joke but apparently they are of very good quality.
Here is Princess Charlotte's rather unusual engagement ring.

The couple had a civil wedding in January in Gstaad where she wore a dress and coat by Giambattista Valli.

Her younger brother, Prince Frederik, was able to attend the civil ceremony prior to his death in March due to a rare mitochondrial disease.

Here's some more pictures from the religious wedding.

And the reception at Villa Tasca

Princess Charlotte wore a tiara that belongs to her grandmother Princess Joan of Luxembourg née Joan Douglas Dillon, a wealthy American divorcée that married into the Luxembourg royal family and then French nobility. It was also worn by her aunt, another Princess Charlotte, when she married Marc Cunningham in 1993.

TIARA ALERT: Princess Charlotte of Nassau wore Princess Joan of Luxembourg’s Diamond Floral Tiara for her wedding to Mansour Shakarchi at the Church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo in Palermo, Italy on 24 May 2025.

No tiaras but Princess Caroline did wear one of her antique diamond wings in her hair.

She has a pair made by Chaumet that she usually wears as a brooch set. I believe this is the first time she has worn one as hair jewelry.

I’m not sure what to expect with the state visit from France to Monaco today. Monaco doesn’t regularly have incoming state visits and the current Monegasque princely family is notoriously tiara shy. (not you Caroline, you’re an angel and we’re thrilled you’re here) I’m trying not to get my hopes up but there is a banquet scheduled in the throne room of the palace tonight. All I’m saying is that there is a small chance that we will see Princess Charlene in a tiara in a few hours.

Monaco Info, a state news channel, is broadcasting live on their website and Facebook starting now. Everyone prepare yourselves for either extreme excitement or extreme disappointment.
