John lamenting about the way that the serum gave Steve and Bob instant chiseled movie star abs but ended up making him actually gain a bit of weight over his preexisting muscles, Bob looking at him like this while he does:

All of the ‘pregnant Bob and John’ asks in my inbox got me in the mood to give them a lil baby
He is basically a mini Bob but with John’s attitude, I have dubbed him Owen <3
Maybe I’ll draw more if people dig it…

Feeling inspired and sharing out some head cannons!
I think that all of the Thunderbolts* take up simple, hobbies to help with stress management. It started out as Bob’s idea, as he had seen something on Tik Tok and decided it would help. He had gotten John to agree doing it first, by simply reading his descriptions he had gotten of books of his for you page, as John told him which ones he thought sounded interesting, Bob started buying them and placing them around the tower and well, that was how John became a semi-avid paperback reader. Bob meanwhile, becomes obsessed with cozy-gaming, he’s got them all, Stardew, Unpacking, Minecraft (though he really only plays that one when no one else is around because they all have too many opinions and after letting Alexei play the one time Bob was not sharing his world.) Bucky claims he doesn’t need a cozy hobby, but he does crochet in the armchair situated in the corner, while Bob rests his head in John’s lap while they game and read. Yelena builds odd contraptions for her Guinea pig, and occasionally she does archery. However she won’t allow anyone to see her do it, train with her or tell them where she goes to train, but every time she does she comes back slightly misty eyed and has odd children’s drawings she starts hanging up on her bedroom walls. Alexei takes up scrap booking and he’s constantly taking pictures of them sprawled across the Tower at any time he can. Ava gets into ASMR and will hide away in her room and watch for hours.
While the others had initially sighed and rolled their eyes at his antics, the others slowly begin to realize that despite his asshole-ness, John is loyal almost to his complete detriment. What’s he’s loyal to is generally his principles, but there are larger things, like team hierarchy, agreed upon conditions that he takes with 100% sincerity. The second they decide to become a team, he’s incredibly loyal to each and every one of them. Because of this, the team feels the oddest bit protective of him. It’s not that they think he’s naive, they know he’s not, but that sometimes he simply takes things at face value and tries not too look too far into the future to see if this could go against him. Bob is always annoyed and pissy whenever John has to attend press conference, media briefings or public events as Val uses his loyalty to her advantage and she always twists his words, actions or image against him in some way or another. After the first few times, John is no longer allowed to attend those things alone, and eventually not at all.
I think that at one point, Bob and John have a conversation about John’s time as Captain America, his initial meeting with Bucky and Sam and Lemar’s passing. While discussing Bucky, John mentions offhandly that despite their differences he had been very excited to meet Bucky and had always looked up to him as kid. He’d admitted he feels silly about it now, knowing Bucky on a much more personal level as well. Because of this, Bob develops a little bit of a jealous streak. He thinks part of it is because of that little tidbit John had dropped, and that despite their grumbling John does look to Bucky for his guidance and leadership. It’s silly and he knows that, but still Bob can’t help but get a little jealous whenever he sees Bucky and John speaking together. So maybe Bob handles it all in a really mature and adult way, by you know stealing John’s sweaters and pants whenever he can and wearing them around the Tower, but especially in the areas that Bucky is around. He and John are already pretty physically affectionate, but if John happens to be standing talking to Bucky, maybe Bob simply wraps his arms around his waist and burrows his face in his back, or if he’s really desperate, in his chest. Bucky raises his eyebrows and looks a little bewildered and confused, but doesn’t question it. John does not pick up on it, at least until he and Bucky had come back from sparring. Bob had walked past just as John was peeling off his sweaty shirt and well, the next thing Bob knew he was passing by and nipping at John’s cheek as he passed. John had simply laughed as Bucky had raised his hands and turned away. He’d asked as a joke, if Bob was jealous and well, Bob had simply flushed and stammered out some poor excuses. John laughed, kissed Bob and then ensured he made his favorite for dinner that night.
I have a small one-shot that’s inspired by the jealousy head-cannon I have here, but I’m not sure if I want to post it or not…. We’ll see!

Finally finished my last finals, and I’m able to share my #sentryagent thoughts and head cannons!! Some of these are just random things I have thought of over the course of the past few weeks!!
One of my biggest things, is I LOVE the idea of John being the team “chef”, I think since taking the serum he really needs to up his calorie intake and he was used to cooking when growing up and while in the service so he’s happy to do it with all this space and money at his disposal. Once he discovers what Bob’s favorite foods are, he makes them pretty consistently. He’s also a kitchen HOG. He does not like to share his kitchen space with other people and it really frustrates him to be interrupted. He appreciates the others want to help, but DEAR GOD he just wants them to leave him alone. Well, besides, Bob. Bob however, decided he was going to be slowly inching his way into John’s orbit and by extension the kitchen. So, he starts by just saying hi to John in passing while he’s cooking, then brief little conversations. Eventually he starts to sit in the farthest corner in the kitchen, offering small commentary. Eventually he’s allowed to move to the other side, and before either he or John knows it, he’s perched on the counter in the corner and offered taste-tests and special snacks as John prepares meals. The others are jealous, and claim he’s playing favorites and then John points out the Bob is likely everyone’s favorite besides Alexi whose favorite is Yelena. They all agree and Bob flushes but continues to perch himself in the kitchen. Once they start dating, he gets kisses as John is cooking, along with his snacks and taste-tests.
I think another thing is that Bob is constantly running too cold. No one is really sure why, but he’s constantly freezing. John however, runs ungodly warm. It starts as a good excuse for them to sit close during movie nights, Bob simply stating that John is warm and it’s such a hassle to get all these blankets from his room. John allows it, but then thinking he’s helping, goes and buys Bob extra blankets just for the living room so he doesn’t have to drag his blankets back and forth. Bob is both touched, and mildly annoyed. He thanks John for the blankets and uses them religiously for a week, however, he does miss being pressed up against John during those nights on the couch and is debating how he can feasibly make the blankets disappear from John’s view so they can cuddle together again. Until one night, John plops down beside him, throw his arm around his shoulder and says “You’re so cold, you don’t mind right? Finally feel like I’m a normal temperature around you,” and well, Bob is as pleased as punch at that.
Before they start dating, and are just starting to get close, they have the whole “I’m sorry I called you Bobby, I wont’ do it anymore” talk, to which Bob lets John know, that while he appreciates that, he does enjoy John calling him that. John jokes that Bobby should have a special nickname for him then, and is a little starstruck when Bobby walks into the kitchen the next morning, perches himself in his little corner on the counter and says “Morning Johnny,” sleepily. This is one of the first moments John really wants to kiss Bob. But once they start dating, John is constantly calling Bob some sort of pet name, sometimes he just goes simple like “Baby” or “sweetheart”, he still uses Bobby and he’ll even jokingly call Bob his cheerleader every once in a while as well. Bob however, uses Johnny the most, since it’s something even Olivia didn’t really call John. He also will use Baby occasionally.
Whenever there is a high stress situation, John will physically put himself in front of Bob. Whether the heightened emotion is directed at Bob or not, he physically will act as barrier between whatever is occurring and Bob. One time, Yelena and Bob were joking and when John walked in he didn’t realize and moved between them. Yelena was annoyed, but conceded when Bob had put his hand on John’s shoulder assuring him that everything was fine. Yelena softened a little bit towards John after that, and felt more comfortable when she would leave Bob for longer missions.
I have plenty more!! But I’m just sharing these for now and will hopefully share out some more over the rest of the week. I’m seeing Thunderbolts* again on Saturday and I’m positive I will have more thoughts after I get to watch it again!

Adding onto the common HC I’ve been seeing of John being the group cook — he is DEFINITELY the “get the fuck out of my kitchen while I’m cooking” type of person, like you walk in to get a glass of water and he is like “fuck off no I WILL get you water do not DISTURB my cooking. Here. Now LEAVE.”
I like to think he’s mainly like that cuz he likes to solely focus on what he’s doing, and alot of the others end up commenting or asking too many questions — this kinda feeds into my undiagnosed OCD/Autism HC for John — and it’s just annoying and overwhelming. But not Bob. Bob is allowed to stay.
John has declared Bob can stay because he is — as John puts it — “a respectful spectator”. Which started as Bob sitting in the common area near the kitchen doing whatever while John cooked, then slowly migrating over to the opposite side of the kitchen island. Then that evolved into Bob randomly saying little tidbits of how his day was and then it ended with Bob just coming in to yap about whatever while John cooks while replying ever so often but mostly just letting him talk.
John now finds a strange sense of comfort in his rambling and everyone else is like “why can he stay and we can’t” and John is like “cuz he’s Bob and you’re not.” And Ava teases him RELENTLESSLY for it like — “oooh someone’s playing favourites” and John just tells her to fuck off cuz in all honesty, he IS playing favourites.
