You ever think about how Ambrosius Was raised to believe that his looks would get him anything, that he was absolutely stunning, but then was told over and over that the only thing he had going for him were his looks. Being told every day by the director that he wasn’t good enough and that he was a pretty face but nothing else.

You ever think about how he went into battle against Nimonas dragon and everything he thought he had, his beauty that had been held over his head his entire life was ripped away from him and he thought he had nothing left.

Half his face was scarred from top to bottom, his eye was useless on that side, the damage to the side of his head forced him to shave his long, golden hair on one side, he couldn’t walk properly anymore bc of his crushed leg.

He had everything taken away from him all at once. He didn’t have Ballister anymore, the director had put him down and ripped him apart his whole life, all he had was his position as the golden boy of the world, and suddenly he’s bleeding out in a underground lab, he’s found out the director was corrupt, he believes he will never get the love of his life back, and half his face is and body is ripped apart and useless.

However, with this came a realization that he was more than a pretty face. It humbled him and taught him the value of being soft. He was able to reunite with Ballister, he was able to feel that he was worthy of love with or without his looks. Ballister showed him that no matter if his face was ruined forever, no matter if Ballister had to help him walk wherever he went, no matter if there were days when ambrosius simply needed someone to hold him in bed all day and tell him how much he was worth, Ballister would always be there.

If that ain’t love…

We all know the classic Brennan-isms that he sprinkles in everywhere - you got your "hell yeah's," you got your "IN-credible's," you got your "buh buh buh's," but here's a shoutout to his other lesser appreciated sayings/habits:

-"give me a (insert type of check or saving throw), if you'd be so kind"

-use of the word "asunder"

-"you see that-"

-NPCs wordlessly exchanging quick nods to PCs and one another after the party makes a plan

-NPCs having undercuts/the sides of their heads shaved

-"jeeEEzus chrISt" when a fuckton of damage is dealt to an enemy

-"this dude is looking Fucked Up"

So I wanted to know what kind of crystal could go in a wizard staff, right? so I googled “big crystal,” as one does, and got an Etsy ad for This

And as you all know I Am currently taking a geology class, so I am probably more emotionally invested in minerals than usual. But that is...very obviously not a natural crystal.

So I did some looking around on Etsy.

Now, these shops all seem to advertise to the “witchy”/“spiritual healing” type of person. And there are a lot of them. Crystals are a Big Thing on Etsy. And ALMOST ALL of them are obviously artificially cut into the same sort of prism with a triangular pyramid top, regardless of the actual sort of crystal it is supposed to be.

Even like, fucking, obsidian. Obsidian is volcanic glass, it doesn’t form crystals at all, it is not a crystal

I’m not throwing any shade at people who are into crystals for like witchy reasons, but it really seems like if crystals are spiritually important to you, you should know what a crystal is...right...?
