Some of the fantastically strange plants like the mermaid tail or the opal-like clear succulents look like they’re from another planet and something that aliens keep on their alien desks in their alien offices.

If you want to get one of these peculiar succulents for yourself or for your loved ones as a gift, the mermaid one is called a crested Senecio Vitalis while the clear one is the Haworthia Cooperi plant.

Haworthia succulents are popular because of their “leaf windows” which let in a lot of light for the plant. The “windows” also minimize water loss from evaporation because the rest of the plant is buried underground. Haworthia plants also have accordion-like roots that pull them deeper into the ground so that they can thrive.

Haworthia plants are easy to take care of and are great succulents for beginners: just pop them on the windowsill and they’ll be happy. Especially if you plop it into some gritty soil.

In general, succulents need plenty of light and you need to rotate them occasionally so all parts of it can enjoy the sun and to help it grow straight.

Overwatering is a big no-no, so check the soil regularly: if it’s dry, get your watering can ready. Also, keep in mind that succulents need more water during Spring and Summer and barely need any in Fall and Winter when they’re ‘resting.’ Finally, wipe the dust off your succulents to help them grow and become your picture-perfect plant-pals.

this is an insult

My gluten allergy attacks (coz I'm dumb and have no restraints) are so bad that my stomach would swell and look like I've been pregnant for 31 weeks and then my back would hurt so much it would feel like someone was standing on it and wouldn't get off. Then my id lose a clump of hair the next few days and my bowels would just.. Just wouldn't feel right lol

One time I had my period during an exam and didn't know about it till i went to the washroom. I went back to the exam room with the intention to ask to be excused from the exam so as to go to thennurse for a change of clothes. As i went back to the exam room the prof had taken my chair, with blood on it, and set it outside the room by the door for all to see. I was so embarassed and when i went in he didnt even bother to give me a chair or let me go to the nurse. He just gave me a look of disgust and muttered about how i was irrisponsible for not knowing when my period was coming (i was 16 and sex ed was not a thing) I was forced to stand for the rest of the exam in bloodstained skirt and underwear... That memory forever haunts me.

Dumb racial question

White lady customer: why does everyone have black hair?? Is it a fad to have black hair nowadays?? Used to see girls with blonde straight beautiful hair but now everyone wants black hair. Do you know why? Why is your hair black?

Me: *confused*...this is my natural hair colour....

Work partner: *whispers* she's talking about ethnically black hair...

Me: *still confused* the hell type of question is this??

Customer: well why do you have black hair?? To follow trends right? Black is a new fad right?

Me: *realises she's mistaken my race*.... Well.. I'm black (technically mixed race but still)...so..

Felt like venting

I once dated someone for almost a year and he'd give me an old plastic bag to put my used pads or tampons into and would not let me toss them into his trashcans because he'll feel weird about it later and i was gross and irresponsible to be bleeding "at my age"... I am in my 20s.. I had to wait till we left the house (dirty tampons and all in my bag) and got to a park bin and toss them in there while he pretended not to know me or just take the bag home and toss into my own trashcans (we hung out till 1am sometimes) and ya.. Imagine my discomfort walking around with them. Sometimes when i started my cycle he'd scream at me on the phone or just not talk to me till i was done because i was disgusting during that time. When i'd sit in his car he'd quickly cover it with old newspapers or bin bags so as not tonruin his seats. Luckily i am no longer with such an immature pig headed person and i am much more comfortable with myself and bodily functions and what not.
