There was always nothing but malice behind the mirror’s words, pure poison spat out by the lancer who looked every bit like the lancer that was sent from the heavens and sculpted from the ground up. The lancer could see the frustration glistening past deep violet eyes, how his expression tightened like that of a child as he seemed to spat out nothing but bitter words twords the man before him. He carefully watches his stance, he watches as his lips curl and fists clench yet he dosen’t return a reaction. He would not fight. ‘ I do wonder why any of this angers you so. We cannot control how people feel about us - be it they show more interest in myself or someone as strong as you. ‘ That was something he wouldn’t deny before the creation that mirrored himself. ‘ And with that, I cannot answer why. ‘

He looks upon his reflection with disgust. ( and maybe some hidden envy, something he’ll never admit to. and it’s not really his reflection, since this face wasn’t his to begin with. ) He curls his lip, clenches his fists, like he’s preparing to fight. 

“Why you? Why are you the one they all want and love? I’m every bit as powerful if not more. I was created to surpass you and no matter what I do all anyone can think of is you.” 

There’s pure vitriol in his voice, something bitter that resents Enkidu to his very core. His existence was supposed to have been perfect where this clay puppet was clearly flawed. He was just a tool of the gods, one they discarded when he began to be too much trouble for them. 

Mother would never throw him away like that.

What was he doing - Gilgamesh knew very well that the Lancer himself was capable of fighting. That he wasn’t frail despite not being on the road to immortality like the king himself. The blow might have dangerous to him, coming from a saber class enemy...but not so much for the caster. Even if he were an archer it wouldn’t do much but even with the lower hand the heaven sent clay doll was able to defend himself. But even as he was pushed aside to be sheilded wouild he watch in awe of his friend’s power, both tome and axe in hand.

Though when he least expected it did another attack come, the caster already been taken back from the hit. ‘ Gil, watch out - ‘ He’d snap before hands extended, magic flinging chains from the palms of his hands to atleast do some damage to make sure his dearest friend wasn’t hurt. Feet would slide back before he found himself tumbled to the ground, heavy damage taken. Though it was enough to slay the monster that had attacked, perhaps most of the damage being dealt by the caster himself.Hah, he was the one being shielded yet in the end he tried doing the very same, to show him that despite his chances being slim, that he could still fight. ‘ Hah...you idiot. ‘ He’d choke out, body curled on the ground as he’d watch his friend, beat up as bad as him swallow his pride and get up ; he always was the braver one. ‘ You know I can fight too. ‘
