The thing is, even if you were lucky and your parents taught you how to clean, they probably didn't teach you how to clean the stuff you clean stuff with, like brushes, mops, sponges, rags, and so on. Or how to clean your cleaning appliances, like a dish washer, clothes washing machine, and clothes dryer and its ducts (if you have a ducted dryer), or a carpet cleaner, vacuum, Or how to clean up clean messes, like spilled bleach or detergent.

My parents threw away all of these things (even the vacuum cleaners and the dryer) when they got too dirty to function, because no one even told them THAT they could be cleaned. Cost them thousands of dollars over the years.

All I'm saying is that cleaning is not intuitive, and not knowing how to clean is not a moral failing, but it is something you can learn.

I'm going to reblog this post with resources for learning how to clean things and how to clean cleaning things (I'm not at my desk at the moment). If you have any favorites, please feel free to add them in too!

Ok but like, I like to imagine/headcannon that despite being such a hero, Mario feels a a lot of pressure from his role.

Like the guy is always seen as the solution whenever someone or something is a threat to the Mushroom Kingdom.

I mean, he's been through so much, which includes going through the galaxies (technically twice) and having his own brother turned against him into the harbinger of the apocalypse.

So how could he not, when knowing that he's their hope? When in his mind and literally, the Kingdom depends on him.

Think of it kinda like Luisa from Encanto with her pressure.

Now put that onto Mario.

He just doesn't want to let anyone down or be seen as a failure. Because not only would he fail, his failure/letting them down would lead to his loved ones to get hurt.

So he just pushes through it, and does his best to hide how he's really feeling. Because if he doesn't, it'll be a sign of weakness. And he doesn't want them to see him be weak, he's supposed to be their strong hero.

To add to this, I also like to think that he feels guilty that he's gotten captured (three but technically 4) times by King Boo.

He doesn't want to be a burden to Luigi, so whenever he encounters King Boo or a swarm of boos, he's determined to fight back and thinks he can do it, only to be proven wrong (again and again) when he gets placed in a painting.

Mario probably gets frustrated at himself for not being able to defeat them in the same way he can easily defeat other enemies he's ran into.

Although he probably doesn't want to admit it. All of it. He doesn't want Luigi to get worried for him.

I’ve been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of “how to draw” videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can’t make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here’s a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

looking at the cis/het/allo/amato/normativity and just going:

i am SUCH A SUCKER for mario embodying the indomitable human spirit or determination or whatever you wanna call it

is was an AMAZING decision to make a point to emphasize that part of his character in the mario movie, that he doesn’t know when to quit, that even when he's put down, belittled, beaten and bruised he gets up and keeps going anyways.

representative of as many lives you lose in mario games, all you can do is try again, and that's what mario does no matter how tired he is. he could take a shot in the leg and still try his hardest. i wish that were me, he's my superman

So…Nintendo just revealed something about Mario and Peach recently. What do you think about that?

The statement itself I don't have a problem with. Nintendo confirmed that Mario and Peach have a pretty good platonic bond with one another, and that's honestly all I can really ask for.

One of my favorite things about Mareach is the fact that they clearly care about one another deeply and have good chemistry between each other. Their romance is a good topper and it can make for good drama, but it's not what the main course is to me. It's why I'm not upset that they're not together romantically officially.

No, it's the response to the statement that I hate. But it's to be expected. People have been making these kinds of "Peach friend-zoning Mario" or "Peach cheating on Mario" or whatever else for years now. It's low brow humor, but I don't expect anything more from people that just recycle stale 15 year old jokes repeatedly.
