Personally I've been a huge coffe addict, but noticed my beloved matcha (vegan-)latte is the best recipe for hours of concentration. Many people have been feeling very overwhelmed with the home-office situation and lockdown-life at home. I get it! Working from home isn't easy. Not the right equipment or furniture, no colleages to talk to at the coffee machine, lack of routine and loads and loads of distractions from family members, pets and... all that stuff around the room! ugh. It can be really challengeing to keep your sh** together and focus when you work from home. ⁣ I know, because as a freelancer that's what I've been doing for the past 6 years. And since I'm moving around from place to place for surfing and due to my long-distance relationship, it's been a steep learning curve. Adjusting to new enironments quickly and planning ahead is crucial. But I found that the best workspace is the simplest! It might feel handy and inspiring to lay out all you might need, and decorate your workspace for motivation. But it can be more distracting than you might realise.So do yourself a favour and keep it as simple as possible! Clean desk, beverage at hand, an only the really necessary stufff. You can keep inspiration and additional resources close, but avoid laying them out around you if you're doing deep focus work. That's my monday tip for you. Disagree? Additional tips? Do you feel discouraged and low at the moment? Do you miss activities, dates and events to look forward to? Did you skip setting goals for 2021, because you feel they won't be attainable anyway in the midst of this pandemic? In times like these it can feel pretty useless to make plans. Who knows what our world will look like in a few months? Or even weeks? Why should we plan anything if we don't even know what our every day life will be like next week? There are a lot of things we can't control right now. And that's scary as well as demotivating. Our plans, goals and perspectives are usually what keeps us going. ❗️That's exactly WHY I keep on planning. I plan the things I can plan, no matter now small they seem. Having something on my list helps me keep the momentum. I have no idea if it's going to be possible to hit the gym again in March, go on a meditation retreat in May, or find a new client willing to hire a freelance illustrator anytime soon. But I put my goals and plans it in my calendar and work towards making it happen. Because, if we're honest, when do we EVER have a guarantee for what the future will bring!? Even in a pre-pandemic world, things did surprise us, life happend, stuff got cancelled and we had to adjust. So I launched my template shop in the middle of this mess, not despite, but because of the situation. I want to give you the tools to keep your focus, regain motivation and create something for yourself to look forward to. I like to believe that my planners can help you with that.
