Reaching retirement I have decided to find old friends for one more meal. I hope to string a route across the US. I will update this site with the pictures and stores.

The Oregon Trail

Multnomah Falls, what Louis and Clark charted as the Island of the Dead and Mt. Jefferson (let me know if that’s wrong). Saw a lot of people and loved Oregon. Will be back.

Leaving San Francisco

From the Golden Gate to the monk with the selfie-stick a trip to remember. Dave and the boys killing it and the house we shared during college. The fence is new and that would have been a Moto Guzzi back in the day. (Looks like we left a beer keg)

Yosemite
The Awesome shots are from Glacier Point. One in Half Dome and the other side is both Nevada and Vernal Falls. The water was plentiful and this was Bridalveil Falls.

Mike Gardner was an oasis in the desert.
I settled into his home in Sacramento and unwound from months of living day to day. We saw friends and went to a River Cats game he even let me work in the vineyard he tends. Good friends are priceless.

Visiting Family in LA

Back in La La land with my Brother and Sister at the house we all grew up in after Pittsburgh. Tom an Jo live in a condo with a lake on it, we went canoeing. Then the hike to the top of the Hollywood sign. Much easier going down.

Montana de Oro, the Mountain of Gold

Don't the sunrise look so pretty Never such a sight....
This spot was a find, Wonderful trails and the cove is amazing. The name refers to the poppies (the state flower) that cover the mountain in the spring. Tide pool shots and the sunset and sunrise.

Morro Bay

My camp was just to the right of the boats, across the street. They chipped away at that rock for almost a decade and this is still left.

Made it cross country. Spent some time at Carlsbad beach. The pelicans hunt in squadron formation. There’s a view of my bed and this guy had a garage and enough wood to last the summer, some camps are less temporary than others.

Love the desert and smack dab in the middle of is was Rob Hardy. The man has adapted well to the environment and arranged accomodations for me at a local casino. Great to reconnect again.

Crossing Texas, Had a lovely lunch with KT Gardner. Saw some awesome landscapes and this hotel had not 2 but 5 smokers out back... For when you're done driving and want to smoke some ribs.

Galveston is a lovely family beach. There’s about anything you would like to do there. There are also some amazing houses. The Pyramids across the bay are museums and aquariums.
