MainVerse Timeline;

A recollection of all events past on this and my previous blog; a timeline of sorts, set up in preparation for the launch of a webcomic/original story, for the case that tunglrdotcom forces us to immigrate and because the mun has sudden bouts of organization mania.

January (2k17);

Narcissus, Steel and Crimson ‘Spencer’ all move into Rainsville, a quiet and rather small city -presumably somewhere in the US. Steel is enrolled in Rainsville High, the local Highschool, in the 10th grade. Crimson starts to work as a bartender in ‘Black Alleycat’, a local pub. Narcissus has his first acting auditions.

February~March (2k17);

Steel starts to hang out with Martha Greenfield and Seth Fanning. Crimson has made his first friend in the workplace, Natasha. Narcissus gets his first few job offers and quickly ascends to the top tiers of Rainsville’s theater scene.

March (2k17);

Scarce fire-setting incidents are reported around Rainsville. The targets consist of mostly small convenience stores along the main highway that crosses the town, tearing it in half. They happen during late night/early morning hours. Police begins investigations that quickly come to a dead end.

July & August (2k17);

Incidents of ‘accidental fire-setting’ seem to become all the more frequent.  At first the fires are pinned on the insufferable heat of summer’s peak, but soon enough a pattern appears. Police re-opens the case file from the spring fires, but it is to no avail.

May (2k17);

Omnipresent beings known as ‘grayfaces’ force Steel to reveal his guilt to them and plead with Crimson to put a stop to the fire-setting.

June-July (2k17) ;

Incidents of ‘accidental fire-setting’ seem to become all the more frequent.  At first the fires are pinned on the insufferable heat of summer’s peak, but soon enough a pattern appears. Police re-opens the case file from the spring fires, but it is to no avail. Crimson eventually discovers ( X )  that Steel is the one behind the fires ( X )

August(2k17) ;

A triple fire streaks takes place in the city. Chaos reigns. The fires make the news this time, striking terror in the hearts of Rainsville’s citizens. The fires draw the attention of Detective LaVigne, a notorious arson investigator.

Seth, Martha and Steel’s friendship has grown stronger. Seth has begun to develop feelings for Steel; ( x )

September(2k17) ;

Steel meets LaVigne face to face: ( x )

Seth was very conflicted about handing his friend -and crush- over to the police. Taken over by his emotions, he failed to live up to his role as a Guardian; ( x )

December (2k17);

In the previous months the fires would appear at a frequency of one or two per week. People were starting to get seriously frustrated with the police who barely had enough evidence to loosely describe the arsonist. The tag #deargarsonist appeared online and people would use it to post locations they wanted the ‘Garsonist’ to target next. The nickname ‘Garsonist’ was given to the criminal as tribute to the fact they’d often break into gas stations during the late night hours.

 Meanwhile things were getting all the more tense at home between Crimson and Steel, who now openly hated each other. Crimson gradually gave up from trying to discipline Steel into stopping the fires, while Narci stepped in to take the younger human under his wing and threaten to kick Crimson out if the abuse continued.

 At school Steel sought to start hanging out with the more popular kids, which made Seth jealous.

 Steel gets beat up at school after trying to hang out in the backyard with popular girls; ( x )

 Seth eventually gave into his intense emotions and decided the only way to get Steel to confess and put an end to his lethal fire-setting would be to hunt him down himself. Unable to handle the extreme emotions and meeting Steel with very bad timing, Seth ended up taking his own life in front of his friend. Steel fled from the crime scene and sought shelter in the town’s park. ( x )

January (2k18);

Rainsville’s mall is set on fire. Steel is revealed to be using his unique supernatural power to stop time in order to set the fires. ( x )

News channels are now all over the arson reports ( x )

 Due to the mentally scarring experience of Seth’s suicide, Steel’s mental state keeps declining. He frequently disassociates, which nearly gets him caught. ( x )

 Enraged and frustrated with the turn his life has taken, Steel takes his fury out on Rainsville’s church ( x ) and has to flee clumsily from the crime scene, as police and the fire department are now constantly alert due to the frequency of the fires.

 Steel returns to the apartment to an enraged Crimson and ends up having to stab him in order to escape ( x ). Crimson lets him go, but right after being stabbed in the gut his eyes turn into an inky black shade, as if he’s transforming into something.

February 2k18~March 2k18;

Steel ends up spending his nights at Rainsville’s park ( x ), unable to return to the apartment, where Crimson has been left with Narcissus.

 During this period, Steel is plagued with nightmares that reveal a big part of his past; ( x )

After a few weeks Rainsville’s High re-opens and Steel has his first day back in school ( x )

 Due to hiatuses in between progression drabbles the final dates aren’t very accurate. However time-wise -even though the exact year during which the story is set has yet to be specified- the months would be as such.

“So you got it without knowing what it meant? Ugh, typical.”

There’s no hiding the annoyance in her voice. She’d dealt with countless people that had gotten tattoos like that without realizing the significance of it or how it could impact their lives.

“If you knew then you wouldn’t be asking me, dinlow.” She puts her hand to her forehead “It’s a protection symbol against evil spirits, it deflects from the evil eye. But can also be a symbol to the third eye.” She steps forward and without asking taps his forehead. “The eye that lets you see past the veil of the ordinary and into the veil beyond.”

“Ack! Dordi!”

 For the simple tap she’d given, Steel gave a rather dramatic reaction. He flinched and put a palm over his forehead to protect it from any other unsolicited taps. With a pout and a rub at his ‘sore’ forehead -ah, that stinging pain like hell was already giving him a headache- he growled between clenched teeth;

“Dun’ haf’ta be rude an’ poke a chav. Y’ lookin’ for some ink or for a different kind’a skin mark?”

She crosses her arm looking fairly unimpressed. Until she sees the design, her unimpressed expression shifts just a little as her interest is grabbed. The design and placement screamed mysticism to her. But any ideas he might be another magic user were quickly blotted out by pride and offense to the term he used.

“Oh give me a break.” She rolls her eyes and narrows them skeptically at him.

“Do you even know what that symbol on your hand means? Or did you just get it because it looks cool?”

 There’s no much of a shift in Steel’s expression. He appears to be calm but other than that any experience of emotion is concealed behind a deadpan.

“Sure do. Tho’ I didn’ ask for it, when I saw it, I knew I’d wanted it.”

A small snicker follows his response and a playful smirk appears on his lips, if only for a mere second; “...What do you think it means?”

She stares at the stranger for a moment trying to determine if he’s serious or not. He couldn’t be serious, right?

“Thanks.” The only genuine thing about that response is the sarcasm to it. “But I’d rather go to an actual tattoo parlor. Where the chances of catching some weird disease from the needle are less likely.”

“Probs.” He gives a small shrug in response.

“But he be cheap, he be good and he’s kinda blind. The design-” At that he raises his palm to demonstrate his own tattoo from said ‘artist’.

“-Comes from his mind’s eye.” With that his hand slowly returns to the warmth of his front pocket, amidst loose change and a trusty lighter. “Doubt a gadje like ‘ya would care for that tho, anyway.”

 A long fingernail points to some alley behind his back, as Steel offers his advice from experience.

“Y’ go ‘round this corner. Keep walkin’. There’s some dude sittin’ ‘side some cans an’ if y’ask him, he gives the best ink in town. Good prices too.”

“I’d like to get a tattoo. I’m not sure where and I have too many ideas of what to chose just one…”
