ICT as Platform for Change

ICT tool meduim force is a bringing about action and mobilize change in a population, society or culture.In this lesson, I’ve learned the role of ICT in recent history. The EDSA (People Power Revolution), the radio broadcast station especially radio veritas helped changed the course of history. Without it this medium of communication the Filipinos wont be uniting as one.

EDSA dos, like the first People Power Revolution, EDSA dos would not have been successful without the text brigades. Million People March, the organizers and promoters of the Million People March used facebook and Change. Org as their mediums. Yolanda People Finder, this organizations to help people track relatives during calamities.. Org gives access to more people by allowing the online community to affix their digital signatures on a petition. ICT has helped improved communication when Filipinos needed it the most. Radyo Veritas helped in the success of the People Power Revolution.

There are three faces of social media, the good, the bad, the ugly. The Good it is used for communication where distance is no longer matter. The bad it allows people to hide behinds screens and avatars and it has taken over our lives rather than us being in control.  The Ugly it has become a common cause to broken relationships, self contentedness, and egocentric.l it also for frauds and child abuse.

ICT Project for Social Change

I’ve learned about creating a concept paper. A concept paper is a document used to convince a panel of potential funders to help a product, program, or service become reality. It has five elements: introductions, purpose, description, support, and contact.

There are five elements of a concept paper this are Introduction it includes your group’s mission and vision. Purpose, includes why this project is worth of our groups time and money. Description,  includes all the necessary information about the project. Support  contains the budget needed for the project.Contact Information,  contains the budget needed for the project.  

I’ve learned that ICT Project Process involves planning, development, release and promotion, and maintenance. In the planning stage, your group should be able to conceptualize your project, research about your topic, set meetings and deadlines, assign tasks, and find a host, create a sign map, list down all application and output that you need, and consider funding. The development stage involves the actual creation of the website or blog.

Cyber Security

The term cyber security is used to refer to the security offered through online services to protect your online information. It is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks. It's also known as information technology security or electronic information security. I have learned that this is a serious matter and people nowadays are expert in hacking accounts that it can use against you, maybe in a bad way or good way. with an increasing amount of people getting connected to internet the security threats that cause massive  harm are increasing also.This lesson really helped me that I should be careful in posting any information,  that may cause any problem. 

Here are some major security problems, Viruses, hackers, Malware, Trojan Horses and password cracking.  Virus and Worms it is a program that is loaded unto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your courser but there’s a solution install a security suite that protects the computer against threats  such as viruses and worms.  Hackers a person who breaks  into  computers  usually by gaining access to administrative controls. There are three types  of hackers,   the white hat hackers,  the grey  hat hackers,the black hat hackers.   how to  prevent  hacking it may be possible to prevent computer hacking however effective security control including strong password and the use of the firewalls can help. Malware it comes from the word malicious software it infects and damage a computer system without owners knowledge or permission but it can be prevented just download an anti malware program that also helps prevent infections and activate network threat protection, firewall and anti virus.Trojan horses are email viruses that can duplicate themselves steal information  or harm the computer system. these viruses are the most serious threat to computers. to prevent this download some security site such as avast internet service will prevent you from downloading Trojan horses. Password cracking are attacks by the hackers that are able to determine passwords or find passwords to different protected electronic areas and social networks to prevent this always use strong passwords and never use same password in 2 different sites.

Interactive Multimedia

Interactive media are means of communication in which the output values depend on inputs. It is a computer delivered electronic system that allows the user to control, combine, and manipulate different types of media, such as text, sound, video, computer graphics, and animation. Interactive media integrate computer, memory storage, digital data, telephone, television, and other information technologies. it only mean that I am involved in the communication.

The most common interactive multimedia applications include education and training programs, video games, electronic encyclopedias, and travel guides.  Nowadays, the fastest-changing area is dedicated to the development of teaching materials based on usage of computers, particularly interactive multimedia programs that run on personal computers. These new computer and information technologies offer students and teachers access to materials like never before.

Collaborative ICT Development

Collaboration is working together to achieve a goal. Synthesize previous learnings into an integrated ICT content through collaboration with classmate and teacher as both peer and partner. We also discuss about Web Portal wherein it is a website that contains information from different sources. One Example of this is the Yahoo it is a useful website where you can see the news, email, weather and many more.

Online collaboration on an online environment allows people to generate content, reflection, review/modification, while making modifications process visible to others. The Online Collaborative Tools is consist of group work, working together does not necessarily mean you have to be physically together and lastly these tools can help your group “go the distance” wherein you can communicate even though your far away with each other through internet.

Collaborative tools support online collaboration. They are usually stand-alone applications that are “cloud” applications, which means that the content is backed up online. You should be online in order to participate in these applications. If you are offline, you may sync up once the internet is connected. There are some examples of online collaborative tools this are Facebook groups  can create a group page that will allow people in your group to communicate your ideas. , WordPress also allows you to multiple contributors for a single blog. , google drive & MS Office Online Google Drive and Microsoft Office Online allow multiple people to work on different office files and even have their own group’s cloud storage. , Yammers offers companies to have their own social network that allows sharing and managing content. and lastly Trello offers an online to do checklist for your entire team.

We have tried to create an account in trello and i have experience how to create a to do list in an easier which makes it incredible.

Web Page Concept and Design

HTML is an acronym for Hypertext Markup Language, it uses the layout of a particular Web document-which includes a website or a webpage  by using different tags and codes. It defines the structure of communication by using a variety of tags and attributes which is designed to display text and other information on a screen and provide hyperlinks to other web document.  Every code is unique in its own way and using the wrong text can cause it not to work properly. One very crucial thing to take note is that the first html word int the notepad does not have a “/” but the last one does. This is  because the “/” on the last “html” indicates that it is the end. This rule also applies when you are using “<body>.” Although, those are not the only codes that are used when making a website. 

As a beginner, learning even the basics of the code was very challenging, but I had it done before and I had trouble remembering how to create one. Through research and troubleshooting, I slowly grew to have an understanding of them, but there is still much more that I could learn.Using and learning HTML  has given me the utmost respect for web designers and any job that deals with computer. I no longer take for granted beautifully designed and easy-to-use websites. Through this course I have gained insight, not just concerning communication, but also how difficult working with computers and the Internet really is.

Finally, creating and designing these projects was a fun challenge for me. this topic was very beneficial to me. I learned a lot about things I hardly knew existed before,I have learned and grown so much.
