The Cannes Connection

Since Sophia Bush left the Cannes part of her Glamour essay vague and portrayed it as fun coincidence that she and Ashlyn were working together, I wanted to provide some pertinent background information to the timeline (full timeline and background info will be coming to this blog in the following days):

March 26th - Ashlyn and Sophia reconnect with each other at the Angel City vs Gotham home opener in LA and they both share photos posing with one another and Ashlyn comments on Sophia’s Instagram post. 

March 30th - Gotham FC announces their season sponsors, and among them is Johnnie Walker Whisky. Why is this important?

1. Johnnie Walker Whisky also sponsors Angel City FC, the club in which Sophia is a partial owner

2. If you google “Sophia Bush Johnnie Walker Whisky” you’ll see that Sophia has a long standing partnership with Johnnie Walker Whisky, dating back to at least 2019, possibly longer

3. Ashlyn’s role at Gotham FC as the Global Creative Advisor, according to the original press release, is described as the following:

May 25th - Stagwell announces the speaker lineup for Sport Beach at Cannes Lions. The first panel Ashlyn is scheduled to speak at on June 19th includes two other speakers and a moderator. The two other speakers: Sophia Bush and Sophie Kelly, the Senior VP of NA Whiskey Portfolio and Diageo (Johnnie Walker Whisky’s parent company)

**When the original schedule was released, Ashlyn was also scheduled to speak on another panel on June 22nd, but for some unknown reason the final panel lineup changed slightly. (Ashlyn continued to stay in Cannes through the end of the week. Sophia left the day after her panel on June 19th).

Now that we've cleared that up, let's briefly break down what went down in Cannes.

Day 1 - Ashlyn and Sophia Speak at their panel together. Here's a short excerpt.

After the panel, they attend a dinner together, along with mutual friend Sue Bird, as well as other friends and colleagues.

Cannes Day 2

***Sophia leaves after Day 2, but she posts this upon her return. (I have no idea who took it, or if it was a self timer, but including it for reference)

That's all for Cannes, but I thought I'd include these minor post-Cannes details here as well.

June 26th - last public appearance for Grant and Sophia at the West End performance of Accidental Death of an Anti-Christ

June 27th - *date of separation listed on Sophia and Grant's divorce docs* (divorce not announced until August 4th)

Late June - Ashlyn returns from Cannes and immediately breaks up with Ali. (this is from the Daily Mail, so take it with a grain of salt)

I will try to continue updating the full timeline in the coming days, but these are some of the most glaring errors in Sophia’s Glamour article.
