It actually irritates me the way conservatives make things like "family friendly" and "protect women" and "protect children" into things that make me and people in my circle uncomfortable. (As in, they say this but what they actually mean is to be anti-lgbtq+, anti-trans, acti-vax, etc)

Because I personally want public pride events to remain *kid friendly*. As in *safe* so queer kids can enjoy pride too. 18+ and 21+ events can and do happen in bars and clubs and other spaces where you can decide who gets in, but public events should be kid friendly for our younger queers

And people who want that same thing may now get mixed up with people who want to say that anything queer is inherently sexual which is so far from the truth it's not even funny.

I just hate that people have to struggle to navigate even safe spaces in a way that is safe and comfortable because bigoted people want to paint themselves as being concerned about the people they aim to oppress.

I've lived in Australia and the US, both of which don't super commonly have difficult to pronounce last names, so I haven't heard anyone else relate to this. But I don't think all the born and raised American characters I love so much would be able to pronounce my Polish last name first try, lmao

And maybe you would never do that thing when you were 13. But the thing you need to ask yourself is, might you have done that thing if you were 13 today and maybe even if you were 13 living in the situation that 13 year old is living in. Age is only one factor!!!

watched some video about a shitty kid yesterday and caught myself thinking "my god the kids these days are out of control" and praise the Lord I immediately reflexively scolded myself like "you were exactly this stupid when you were 13, stupider probably, here's a memory of you doing and saying something so completely terrible because you were a kid and kids don't know better" you cannot let up your vigilance even for a moment, you must constantly fight against age related conservatism and never stop internally interrogating your reactions

Personally, I am autistic and so is my brother! He annoys the shit out of me every day of my entire life with some of his traits, but that's okay, bc he apparently hates the sound of me singing and that's one of my favorite stims. He leaves the room when I put on taylor swift and I move seats if we're sharing a couch and he starts bouncing his foot. Sometimes it's difficult but sometimes it's that simple to accommodate everyone.

The way I would cry if someone did fanart or even additional fanfic (au, spinoff or smth like that) for anything I did like I'm working on this silly little novel rn and some of my motivation for it is the thought of getting fanart

I never had people draw fanart for one of my fics or write something based on it, but I just know that that is such a high honor and show of love. I once had someone ask me if they could translate my fic in Chinese and I was like, wow, they love it enough to want to put time and effort into it to show it to more people.
