"... I'll have to find someone out of uniform..." Yuri blinked, "I guess... I can do that. I mean... Alright."

"... N-no one interests me currently..." Yuri looked down at her feet. "I don't know anyone well enough..." Fidgeting with her sleeves, she adds, "I mean... I... There are some people that.. Never mind."

"...I'll try to go to that..." Yuri smiled slightly to try and show her sincerity. She honestly did like the idea of a play. It didn't seem as... Invasive as some of the other boothes that the spring fair had to offer. A kissing booth? No thank you.
At Soseki's question regarding crafts, the girl gave a tiny hint of a smile yet again. "I like clothes... Designing them, right now, but... I want to be able to make them." Hmmph. That sounded stupid, didn't it? Yuri's smile faded slightly, and she bit the inside of her lower lip.

“Face-painting? I’ll definitely have to stop by. Book club is putting on a play. Of sorts.” He laughs as he thinks of the play they have planned.
“What sort of crafts are you into?” He can already feel this conversation failing. He’ll probably make up an excuse to leave it soon since she still seems a bit uncomfortable.

Yuri sighed slightly, and decided to simply look at Soseki's forehead. That conveyed something similar to eye contact, right?
The red-head raised an eyebrow at being called a 'young student'.  ...Was he a super senior or something? Still, the corners of her lips curled up slightly into something resembling a smile, and she shrugged.  At the question, she looked back to the ground and murmured, "A face painting booth... I think...  I'm more into the crafts."
@Soseki || MHS AU
Well, at least she wasn’t fidgeting anymore.
“That’s good. Always nice to see young students who have more on their minds than slacking off.” Hahaa way to make yourself sound old, Soseki. “So what’s Arts and Crafts club doing for the Spring Fair? Do you all have a booth planned?”

Would you rather spend your life as a mute-deaf or lose the ability to use one of your hands?
Yuri blinked. Both of those things were awful! If she were mute and deaf, she couldn't talk or hear things! Talking, she could get over, but she did need the ability to hear. As for losing one of her hands... Couldn't she get some sort of device to help with that?
The red-head pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and shook her head, "...I don't know.  ...Probably Mute and Deaf..."

Yuri nodded once, forcing herself to stop messing with her sleeves. After all, if she were to continue that nervous habit, her uniform would, most likely, end up becoming ruined. At Soseki's answer, she nodded once, trying to make something resembling eye contact, "I.. I see.. I'm a freshman."
At Soseki's question, she looked back towards the ground and shook her head, "No... I'm in the ...Arts and Crafts club. I just... Enjoy literature."
@Soseki || MHS AU
He stood as she did and backed away a bit. She seemed rather awkward and shy. He didn’t want to invade her space. He nodded at her stumbled thank you.
“I’m a senior here. What about you? Are you.. part of the Book Club?” He was getting some odd signals for her. She seemed like she didn’t want to be here but was also trying to talk. He figured he’d go with it. Or maybe she was too shy to just walk away from someone?

"...Ah," Yuri nodded once, and continued looking for the book. Her cheeks grew warm, however, as she felt the presence of someone rather close to her. As soon as Soseki pointed out the book, Yuri grabbed it, and stood up, and took a few, not-so-casual steps to the side.
Yuri mentally cursed her shy tendencies. When anyone not related to her was near... It certainly wasn't comfortable.  Looking at the ground, the pink haired girl nodded once, "T-Thank you..."  Trying to not make a bad impression on the boy who had helped her (Her mother wouldn't approve of scaring off 'potential friends'), Yuri shuffled her feet before saying, "I.. Er, meant to ask... Uh... What grade are you in?"
@Soseki || MHS AU
“Oh, I read a bit of everything. I’m partial to the romance and historical genres though.” He stood still for a moment, wondering if he should leave her alone to find her book. But then he spotted the one she was looking for. He crouched down and leaned close to her.
“Ah, there it is.” He pointed to it, tapping the spine.

Yuri nodded and followed about six steps behind Soseki as he led her towards the book she was seeking. She continued to fuss with her sleeve until they reached the row they were looking for. The girl nervously combed a bit of her hair forward to cover her face more, before looking up at the boy to respond to a question, "Ah... Yes. Romances and Mysteries..."
With that, Yuri bent down and began to look down the bottom row, searching for the book. Although, after a while, she tilted her head back up and asked, "...What types do you like...?"
@Soseki || MHS AU
He grinned, happy to see some kind of expression out of her.
“The Time Traveler’s Wife, huh?” He knew the author of that one. “Audrey Niffenger, right?”  He nodded down the aisle. “Yeah, let me show you.” He turned, book still in hand, and led her down the row and over a few.
“The N’s are somewhere.. around here,” he gestured. “You like romances?” Well that was a stupid question. Why else would she be looking for the book?

Yuri smiled slightly, and shook her head as she looked at the crown. "It's not childish... " She frowned slightly, before adding, "Even if it was... It's not like you're... Not allowed to do that..." Shrugs and shifts her focus to the tree once more; her hands clasped in front of her.
After a few moments of silence, Yuri cautiously walked over to Antoinette and sat down on the bench, still relatively far away from the other girl. After another span of a few seconds, she looked over at the flower crown, "...Next time, though... Maybe try pink and purple... "
All-Natural Accessories || @Antoinette
  Antoinette was pleasantly surprised. People didn’t often remember her name, probably because she was rather quiet most of the time, and commonly referred to her as ‘that one girl with the blue hair’ or something along those lines. Thus, she found herself smiling just a little. “Yes, that’s correct.”
She hadn’t noticed Yuri looking until she said something about her flowers, to which Antoinette jerked and hesitantly uncovered her lap. “Ah… haha, thank you…. You must think me childish, though, to like these sorts of things.”
With a light hint of pinkness to her cheeks, she gently placed the flower crown back upon her head and stared at her hands to hide her embarrassment.

Honestly concerned for a moment, Yuri's eyes widened slightly. Later, she'd end up cursing herself for even having such an idea. She laughed gently, before forcing herself to regain her usual, stoic composure. She nodded once, before saying, "...Very convincing."
Yuri remained silent for a moment, before asking, figuring this student might have a decent idea of how to help her, "Uh... Do you know where 'The Time Traveler's Wife' would be...? I... Er, I'm having troubles, and..."  She trailed off, fidgeting with her sleeves.
@Soseki || MHS AU
The corners of Yuri’s lips curved upward slightly at the book, and she nodded, before moving to cover her mouth partially, in case a smile felt the need to form. “…Yes.” She let out a small, breathy-laugh before saying, “…Inigo… Back when I was little… He was my idol…”
Yuri bit her lip gently after having said that. After all, idolizing an alcoholic murderer wasn’t something that screamed ‘stable human being’. Then again, it wasn’t like she cared what some stranger thought about her, right? Still, she spoke up, in an attempt to justify her comment, “…I-I mean… I was… pretty young, and…”

Soseki looked down at his book. “Oh, It’s The Princess Bride.” He held it so she could see the cover. “It’s uh.. it’s a favorite of mine,” he said. “Have you read it?”
She was kind of quiet, he thought, but he wasn’t sure if it was the quiet awkward or the ill eventually kill you in your sleep quiet. Or maybe she was a normal quiet. It was rare to meet that type, the type that just observed the world around them at their own pace.

5/6/13
Dear Diary,
This is pretty idiotic, but I guess it might help me vent a bit, since I don't like to... Turn to people for that.
Uh, so, I met quite a few people last week. A girl named Antoinette, who seems relatively polite... Which is good. Most people at Mineral High seem to be rather... out there.
I also met a boy named Soseki, and another one named Chase. Neither of them seem awful.
I guess I'll write in you later... Hopefully I have more to say then.

Yuri crossed her arms and continued looking up at the blossoms, letting herself get momentarily lost in the color, scent, and overall artistic experience of viewing the cherry-blossoms. ...What had her father called them? Sakura?  She was brought back to reality when she heard the other girl's voice.
"Huh...? Yes. And you're... Antoinette, correct?" Yuri tilted her head, looking back over at the girl. Her eyes fluttered down to the girl's lap where she noticed a small flower peeking out from near her hands, and the corners of her lips turned upwards slightly.  "I like your... Flowers..?"
All-Natural Accessories || @Antoinette
Antoinette held her flower crown in her lap, covering it with her hands, and blinked at the newcomer. She was pretty sure that it was girl who was speaking to her, but she couldn’t be certain. For the time being, she decided one female and would allow herself to be corrected if wrong.
“They certainly are.” she responded, staring upward at the buds and blossoms.
There was something oddly familiar about this person, though she couldn’t recall ever formally meeting her before. Antoinette thought for several moments, biting at her lower lip, before she came to the conclusion that she’d seen her in the arts and crafts club room. Her name was…
“Yuri… You’re Yuri, right? From arts and crafts?”

"Ah...Good." Yuri muttered, straightening out her slacks. She felt similar to a bird ruffling its feathers and then quickly preening them. The girl awkwardly brushed a few stray hairs out of her face before looking back up at the boy that had introduced himself as Soseki.
She blinked at the boy and replied softly, "It's.. Not the worst way I've met someone..." Yuri proceeded to look down at her shoes until she heard the boy ask another question. "Uh... I'm Yuri. ...If-- Uh... What book is that...?"
@Soseki || MHS AU
He waved away her question. “It’s a foot. No big deal.” He felt really bad about dropping his book on her though. It had been paper back but still.
“Awkward way to meet, huh? I suppose I’ll forever be known as ‘that guy who dropped a book on my head’ huh?” He picked up the book that had fallen, The Princess Bride, and looked back up at her. “I’m Soseki, by the way. And you are..?”
