i think its cos like timon and pumbaa the series was a lot more slapstick-ish and cartoon and for comedic reasons whereas tlk3 is a lot more ....... idk realistic ????? when drawing feminine meerkats ?? 

i remember there is one female looking short blonde meerkat in tlk3 and she kinda looks down and coughs when timon says something and its super cute ok

oh wow i just realised why that girl meerkat w/ the long blonde hair looks so weird to me it’s cause even though there were a few feminine-looking meerkats in the colony in tlk3 (and ma of course!!!) none of them were like. girly girls y’know
