Being kink positive makes it really hard to be a hater of media rip. I used to love watching “the WORST book I’ve read this year” booktube videos but now its like I hear them ask, “Who is this werewolf smut even for?” Omegaverse fans, next question. “Why would you write this?” Because they find it sexy, can we stop focusing on the ewie yucky kink part and focus on the fact that the author used the word knot five times in a single scene? A woman was fined in France (Lyon) because she was wearing a Kuffiya. The said it was because she was “planning to attend an illegal protest” Except there was no protest… they also mocked her because she hasn’t been in France for a long time so in a stressful situation she used English instead of French.

Now that didn’t surprise me at all cause last week I got fined for the same reason too. Except not only there was no protest but I live in a small town who hasn’t had a protest since 2018 and NEVER had an anti racist protest in its history. (People like me just go to the biggest city in the area for this kind of protests)

But the person who filmed the police got fined too… because they had a WATERMELON PINS. They also said it was for “planning to attend an illegal protest” but again no protest. Getting fined for a fucking watermelon pin.

This is what we mean when we say solidarity with Palestinians is criminalized. This is just a fucking pin. This is Western freedom of speech for y’all.

i had a dream that time travel was invented and too many people choose to travel back in time to save the titanic from sinking (the question of whether unsinking of the titanic deserved so much attention in the face of human history which was the subject of both heavy academic and online discourse), which caused a rift in the space-time-continuum that led to the titanic showing up indiscriminately all over the world’s oceans and sea in various states of sinking. this caused a lot of issues both in terms of fixing said space-time-continuum and in terms of nautical navigation, and after a long and heavy battle in the international maritime organization it was decided that the bureaucratic burden of dealing with this was to be upon Ireland, much to their dismay. The Irish Government then released an app for all sailors and seafarers so they could report titanic sightings during their journeys, even though they heavily dissuaded you from reporting these sightings to you given the paperwork it caused. anyway i woke up with a clear image of the app in my head and needed to recreate it for all of you:

in conversation about white people who go to Japan and expect their knowledge of anime to culturally carry them, I was once posed with “it’s like if there was a Japanese guy who was obsessed with spongebob and came over here and thought he could get by just communicating in spongebob quotes.” This is a false equivalence because if such a man existed we would crown him king. Was wishing there was a positivity post for original fiction writers since I see so many about how fanfic writers are doing so much for their communities even when they're not actively writing, and then I thought:

Be the change you want to see in the world.

So this is a positivity post for the writers out here who are working very hard on stories with no established community. Who can't talk about their blorbos and plot lines and brainstorming to anyone and expect them to know what any of it means. Who don't have much to share publicly, but are hoping they will one day.

You're doing a lot of hard work, and I recognize and appreciate what you're putting into the world, even when you're resting.
