Unpopular opinion? No one should ever accuse another person of faking a disability. Yes, it sucks that people fake disabilities. But as an ambulatory wheelchair user, someone who can walk sometimes and not other times, someone with two invisible disabilities...too many people have accused me of faking needing a wheelchair, faking Autism, that I could never do the same to anyone else, even if they really might be faking it. I should be able to stand up from my wheelchair and walk without fear of getting yelled at. I should be able to wear headphones, have loss of speech, and stim in public without people spreading rumors about me. I should be able to have tics without being accused of faking Tourette's (forgive me if I spelled that wrong, I don't have it, I simply have tics that are caused by my FND). Disabled people should be able to live their lives without being questioned on whether or not they're ACTUALLY disabled, or being talked about behind their back.

Reminders for fanfic writers who think it “doesn’t count”

✦ Your writing counts. like, a lot. If someone felt something because of what you wrote, then it matters. That scene you almost didn’t post? Yeah. Believe me, someone out there bookmarked it for a reason.

✦ Writing existing characters doesn’t make it “less than.” You’re building arcs, crafting dialogue, emotion, pacing. You’re studying character psychology like a scientist. That’s not “just fanfic,” that’s storytelling.

✦ “but it’s just fanfic” ...no. STOP, it’s craft. It’s understanding tone. It’s hitting emotional beats. It’s layering theme and backstory and prose into something people feel. You’re doing the work, you just don’t get graded on it. (Which, honestly is a blessing.)

✦ Writing fanfic means you love stories enough to live inside them. You care, deeply. You care enough to reimagine, to explore, to add something of yourself to a world you didn’t create and somehow still make it feel brand new.

✦ Someone out there rereads your fic like it’s their favorite book. Maybe they’ve saved a line to their notes app,or they quote it to a friend. Maybe they just think about it when they’re having a bad day. That little fic you almost deleted, it’s comfort now.

✦ Your comments section is real. Every “I needed this” and “this made me cry in a good way” is proof, you don’t need a book deal to matter. You don’t need a publisher to have an impact, because you already do.

You’re not “just” anything. You’re a writer, own it. Be proud of that.

What are your thoughts on the short stories and overall works of Jorge Luis Borges?

I have to admit that I had never read Borges, only some italian writers that were inspired by him like Italo Calvino (especially One of his last novels, "If on a winter's night a traveler"), Umberto Eco, and my favorite italian singer, Giorgio Gaber.

"El realismo magico" never inspired me. But I will give a chance to him.

Zuko goes into his banishment without iroh Au, but he just ends up an angrier person. Without iroh there to temper him, his anger and terrible impulse control are even worse.

Maybe he got dumped off his ship after his crew mutinied to add some extra anger.

However, he did spend 3 whole ass years living as an earth kingdom refugee, he knows better now. So instead of directing that anger and self-hatred towards Aangs preteen ass he decides to become the royal family's number 1 hater.

The gaang find him 3 years into his banishment, when he's become an open traitor, when they decide to do something stupid and zuko had also decided to do said stupid thing but without the get out of jail free card that is appa.

He joins them, thinking he'll get to kill his family. Much better than the random vigilante justice he's doing (not as the blue spirit tho, that is explicitly meant to portray zuko's selfishness and desire to please his father overriding his every moral code, and i dont want that here).

Aang is unsure of how to break it to him that he doesn't exactly want to kill anyone.

Sokka, who has a younger sister, is very put off by how much zuko wants to kill his sister.

Katara on the other hand, who has a history of dropping everything and going on murder missions with zuko, is very much on board with his "kill my family and figure things out from there" plan (until it's time to do the killing at least, shes angry enough to want people dead but not angry enough to disregard her morals. At least not when aang is there to dispense monk wisdom at the most random times).

Iroh, on one hand is very happy and proud of his nephew for realizing the war is bad on his own and deciding to do something about it, but on the other hand could zuko please stop trying to kill him and his niece, they're both on the same side and azula is a work in progress, you have to understand it takes more than a couple of months to upend your entire worldview for most people zuko-

Zuko does eventually become a better person, less angry and vengeful, it's impossible not to since he genuinely does want to be a good person and he's surrounded by moral paragons here, but he will be very angry and homicidal about it.

I genuinely think the idea that if you should draw a little every day or you'll suffer skill degradation is a total fabrication. Some of the best art I've ever drawn has been coming back from long breaks. I'm talking like weeks. Sometimes you just gotta reset and flush the systems. There's no shame in it. Take breaks. The art will be there for you when you're ready.

I read the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Metamorphoses and most of the classical tragedies by the time I was 15. The very fact that I understood and enjoyed them gave me the confidence to at first better express myself and later on write better.
