Hi I'm Tin!
I love Harry Potter, The MCU, The CW DC Universe, Pokémon, Charmed, Supernatural, Shadowhunters, Smallville, Glee, Merlin, Game Of Thrones and much more!
I know many people are hyping up Steve/Peggy’s relationship to give credibility to the ending of Endgame and Steve’s decision to go back, and even some Stucky shippers are saying that it was understandable and warranted because Steve had such a hard life. And Steve never fully moved on after being frozen and waking up 70 years later, so he was never able to be happy and stop fighting and enjoy his new reality.
But….
Bucky had a horrible life, in the 70 years HE lost, he was actually going through horrendous things, unspeakable acts, torture, utter loneliness, loss of his entire mind to the control of others.
And yet….he somehow moved on? Or is expected to in the post-Endgame aftermath? Like everyone just says ‘Well he’ll move on and find happiness.”
WHY ISN’T STEVE HELD TO THAT? Everyone in the Avengers has lost something and someone, and yet Steve gets to go back to the past and change the entire past of a woman who DID move on, and who had an entire show dedicated to her learning to move on and stop being defined by Steve, and yet he gets to go back in time and pull her from it? Erase all that growth and take away the family and husband she had after she finally got over Steve, and live out his own dreams?
Why are Peggy and Bucky so defined by Steve in these movies? Peggy finally became her own person apart from Steve and then they said SIKE and sent him back to change that????
Bucky was literally forced into growth and moving on after Steve left him behind, and yet even still he’s relegated to ‘Steve’s best friend’ and then “Capain Americas sidekick” even in TFATWS!
Why WHY does Steve get to “not move on” for all his years outside of the ice, but everyone else needs to?? Peggy was praised for moving on in Agent Carter, but Steve doesn’t need to do the same? Part of growth is living in reality, and living in reality means accepting reality and accepting the fact that life is what it is, and if you want it to change you have to do something about it, not run back to the past where things were easier, and you didn’t have to face the pain of moving on.
It KILLS ME that Bucky is here fighting his demons and moving on through therapy, and making amends and giving closure to things he wasn’t even guilty of consciously doing, and basically getting told by everyone that he needs to “make up” for all his wrongdoings as a brainwashed asset, meanwhile Steve gets to pull the “I had a hard life and never moved on so everyone should be happy for me getting to go back in the past and not have to every fully move on and accept my new life”.
I honestly feel like the speech Sam gave to Bucky while they were practicing with the shield is a speech he should’ve given to Steve x1000000.
Anyways, kudos to Bucky for fighting through those demons on a daily basis, and still STILL fighting his ass off for the country, even after everything he’s been through, and choosing to move on even though so much of his life was stolen. I will never understand the double standard between Bucky vs. Steve.
If I have to have past unrequited St*cky in my Sambucky fic, give me the fic where it was Steve who was in love with Bucky and Bucky didn’t reciprocate in that way and had never been able to feel that way so had went overboard with the ladykiller persona in the 30s to try and let Steve down gently.
He always loved Steve like a brother right from the start, and if he couldn’t make himself feel more for him, then he wasn’t going to be able to feel more for anyone anyway, until he woke up and there was a snarky asshole who never treated him like a broken toy mouthing off at him and snarking with him and spending time with him and, oh shit…that’s new.
And because of that, part of his ghosting of Sam post Endgame is his guilt that he feels things for Sam that he didn’t and couldn’t feel for Steve, even though he knew Steve felt like that for him and he blames himself for Steve leaving, not because he was in love with Steve, but because he wasn’t in love with Steve.
Maybe Sam completely misread it and thinks Bucky is pulling away because he’s not Steve…and he’s right, but not in the way he thinks.
Maybe even Sam was aware of Steve being in love with Bucky and has his own guilt at his own feelings because he never saw it coming and he would never do that to Steve, but it’s Bucky…
It could all be so angsty and so beautiful for all the characters and finally they all get the happiness they deserve. Steve in the past with someone who loves him back and Sam and Bucky together.
It has now been 13-14 hours since I listened to the first SamBucky moving in together clip. I have still yet to recover. Almost had a breakdown over it while cooking and scrolling tumblr, because that actually happened and wasn't just a dream. So I'm about a 17/10 which means in overstimulated and pretty much anything will make me cry rn.
This photograph of Neptune was reconstructed from two images taken by Voyager 2’s narrow-angle camera, through the green and clear filters. At the north (top) is the Great Dark Spot, accompanied by bright, white clouds that undergo rapid changes in appearance.
Lonely rejuvenated Steve staring out the window of the new NASA ESA Moon Station. His two boyfriends far away on that Blue Planet rising over the horizon…. :-D
