2010 vs. 2017, sometimes I have to put things side by side to really see the difference. 7 years ago I was creeping very close to 170lbs 👀the struggle was real. With prayer, patience, and lifestyle changes I've been able to drop about 30lbs. I put numbers in this post but it's not all about the weight but more about being healthy and feeling good. #verseoftheday Service requires sacrifice, here's the great thing about God though, He doesn't cut you off if you're still being selfish or holding onto your desires. No, He'll work with you and as your relationship with Him grows stronger, those selfish feelings and desires will go away and it will be less like a sacrifice and more of a freeing experience. How many of us do things outta anger that we know we shouldn't or that we normally wouldn't do? Personally my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak and both are at their weakest when I'm angry and it seems like the devil capitalizes on that opportunity (or tries to anyway) every time. Don't be so mad with something or someone that it causes you to sin - it ain't worth it. #verseoftheday

1,2,3... my Londy is 3 years old today. This little girl is so smart, and sassy, and so sweet. I love the way she loves her big brother, or the way her face lights up when Mickey Mouse comes on, and how she tells you "I'm a big girl now" but in the same breath looks up with those big eyes and says "hold me". Happy birthday to the cutest little character I know. ❤️

As your final day in office has come, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for your unwavering service to this country for 8 years. Thank you for being a relatable President who truly cared for all the people. I have not always agreed with policies but you always had my respect - which is a sign of good leadership. When people criticized you, you let your accomplishments speak for you. When people talked about you, you let your character allow you to be the bigger person. Thank you for showing the world that a Black man can love his wife sincerely, raise his children, build a brotherhood with his VP, and hold the highest office of running this country. With class, intelligence, humility, and grace you've seen this country through 8 years. Thank you for being MY President. Yes we can, yes we did, and yes we will!

2016 has been "interesting". Started to year off saying goodbye to my father, had some loved ones battle cancer, I saw a year where hate became the new it thing, and violence and drug abuse were at the forefront of my city. Thank God, it hasn't been all bad - I saw loved ones DEFEAT cancer, witnessed a modern day miracle of a friend getting a heart transplant, my brother and sister both WALKED away from 2 bad car accidents, I got 2 new additions to my family with Dakota and Jackson, I held onto my 4.0 GPA, my best friend got her first home, and honestly I could go on and on because when I think about it no matter how "interesting" 2016 was, my good days far outweighed my bad days and I praise God that I have nothing to complain about. Here's to a blessed, safe, productive, and happy 2017 - there are only bigger and better things to come!
