XXIV

💌 To my Daylight, and my night skies who bring the moon next to my window, in this ephemeral space, you remain here as the main occupant of my heart chamber — I’d keep forever.

If there’s anything I absolutely adore to do (apart from loving you, that is) is writing letters to you. In words and the lack thereof but I shall be the happiest to be able to give my love a voice. You gave my love a home. Even on the days I’m missing a place I’ve never been to, there will always be love and it will always have a home in you. I carry pieces of you everywhere I go. Putting pieces of my love here and leaving them, knowing it’s another day spent loving you. Whenever I talk of love, I’m always alluding to you. After all, you look like love itself (love to me, looks like you now) and you are eroding my edges, turning me into something like love too.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for you opened my eyes to this little world around me and this world within, a whole lot of love I’ve got in me to give — to you, to everybody. It is these little changes that have become part of me through you. I love you, and I let this love make its way to you — whatever it wishes to do with itself. Some say love is a conscious choice we make everyday and I agree, but loving you is a choice I make without realizing it. With every passing day I am growing, I’m growing with you. I have more to love about you everyday. How can I ever say no? It feels as though I grew another heart while loving you because one couldn’t possibly fit all that you give me. Or maybe it’s been just one heart all along and you showed how accomodating it is, how spacious for all that I love and I am yet about to love you.

And I’ve been meaning to tell you that today it’s a day for us. Happy marking the first 24th of loving each other. Thank you for always trying; to work things out together, to be better for you and for us, to make me the happiest each day! I love you, Gariel Revandra. Let’s make it countless, shall we?

Love, for me, has always involved navigating through doubt, then came him—an unexpected presence that didn’t erase those doubts but made navigating through more bearable. And with him, it’s no longer about what ifs nor about butterfly in my stomach from the sweet nothings. It’s more about the certainty he brings—a feeling I never knew I needed.

They said love lead to where the sparks fly, and with him, Riel, that rings true. Thank you for being the sparks in ways words can’t capture, for making falling in love feel like finding a home.
