I know this may sound elitist and a little gatekeepy but need to get this off my chest for a min.

I just need to be honest because sometimes I feel like I hold back.

We can use the words Guardian, Soilder, Warrior, or Senshi.

But the word Scout is still being used.

Like I just saw on reddit someone made a post saying " Let's make a new scout!!"

Not Guardian which is the official title that is being used for the franchise but Scout.

I just cringe hearing scout being use if we are talking about Viz Dub, The manga ,Crystal or Sere Myu.

Just like if I see a tiktok hear the theme and the first thing I hear is "Fighting evil by moonlight" I'm scrolling off.

Like it was just a post on reddit when someone finally looked up the Lyrics of Moonlight Densetsu and realized it doesn't start with " Fighting Evil by Moonlight"

I dont know why it just brothers me so much.

That I just cringe about it because it just feel like instead of embracing everything that is Sailor Moon,you stay to one version that you home to in elementary school and fight tooth and nail for that version while paying the other versions dust...

Like everyone has their favorites but come on!

Just like people refuse to watch or give the viz dub a try because she is not named Serena anymore.

I remember when R Movie was being released back on DVD and people was upset that Moon Revenge was playing and not Power of Love.

And just the damn cousin jokes and talent jokes that need to be let go.

Like Dic/Cloverway dub will always have a place in my heart because it wasn't for that I would be a fan and I do have found memories watching it when I was a kid but I can really be honest.

It's not watchable or enjoyable even for nostalgia sakes.

Because you can't fully understand or grasp the concept of 90s Version of Sailor Moon when so many cuts, edits, and changes to characters, episodes,and plots that where made to that version that you can't switch from that version to Japanese version because it will not match.

Unlike you can switch from the Viz dub to the Japanese version.

I give the dic cast its flowers but the fact people will go on and on about the dic dub cast and pay the viz cast, Linda( the way some people did her need to be studied) and to certain extent the Japanese cast ( both old and new) in dust...

Like a person on reddit posted all rhe Sailor Moon voice actors he met at cons( which he met a lot to point he had to make two posts highlighting them all) and all people was saying " Omg You met Terri! I'm jealous!" Like there is a shiton of people he met and all you can focus on is Terri?

I have to say this which I think I said before.

The double standard in the Sailor Moon fandom has me looking side eyed.

There is especially an double standard between Diamond and Black Lady.

It was a post on reddit yesterday about this father wanted to buddy read the manga with his ten year old daughter and ask what's the reading order. Specially asking do they have to read Sailor V before Sailor Moon.

Some comments was saying they really dont have to but it was a couple comments that caught my eye.

There were a couple comments telling up to look up the character Black Lady so he know what she did before letting his daughter read it.

Especially this one

So we telling this Father to look up Black Lady to see what she did because of the subject matter but we not telling the Father to look up the character Prince Diamond to look up what he did...

Especially him having a ten year old girl which what Dimaond did can actually happen in the real world compared to what Black Lady did. ( I'm not saying they it can't but the percentage of it happening is very low.)

Like yes both situations are meant to be seen in a very uncomfortable light.

But why people but more stock in Black Lady did than what Prince Dimaond did?
