the commodification of friendship is the most annoying thing to come out of the internet in ages. like actually i love to break this to you but you're supposed to help your friends move even if it's hard work. or stay up with them when they're sad even if you're gonna lose sleep. you're supposed to listen to their fears and sorrows even if it means your own mind takes on a little bit of that weight. that's how you know that you care. they will drive you to the airport and then you will make them soup when they're sick. you're supposed to make small sacrifices for them and they are supposed to do that for you. and there's actually gonna be rough patches for both of you where the balance will be uneven and you will still be friends and it will not be unhealthy and they will not be abusive. life is not meant to be an endless prioritization of our own comfort if it was we would literally never get anywhere ever. jesus.

just saw a post complaining about how hard it is to find adhd resources for adults and one of the comments said “tiktok has a lot of adhd tips” as if telling someone with adhd to enter the algorithmic quicksand of perpetual dopamine hits isn’t the most insane thing you could suggest for someone with adhd

i keep seeing you guys be conflicted about how watching an actual goncharov movie would be super cool but then ppl say “yeah but it would ruin it!”

so here’s a pitch for you

a goncharov II movie. no first one, for obvious reasons. but they make a sequel and everyone who KNOWS will know and everyone who doesn’t will… well, you know. perfect way to continue the joke without completely ruining it and see a movie.

As I go through and block all the transphobes from that post, let me be clear:

There is no form of bioessentialism that is progressive.

Whether it comes from republicans or evangelicals and eugenicists or white supremacists or transphobic "radical feminists" - if an ideology says that because your body/chromosomes/genetics is X, then your personality, role in society, or worth is/should be Y- that's toxic, violent, oppression no matter how you wrap it.
