A very smol gamer. He/They AroAce trash boy. Autistic. Feral little goblin. Probably cursed. Will fight you if you bring TERF shit. Just wants to love and protect their precious boys. Currently going through a Final Fantasy XIV flavoured obsession that will probably last literal years. Also loves anything small cute and fluffy. (Like G'raha Tia!)

Spin this wheel first and then this wheel second to generate the title of a YA fantasy novel!
(If the second wheel lands on an option ending with a plus sign, spin it again)

Hey everybody! My birthday is ONE WEEK from today and the only thing I want is to raise some much needed funds for our local animal shelter here in Vermont, the Humane Society of Chittenden County. If you enjoy the images I post or if they've ever brightened your day and you'd like to thank me in some way - this is it! Please consider donating if you can!

Not Anon, but you mentioned Zola. And I have feelings about Zola!
Cause like, yes. He's a wormy little asshole expressly put in your path to cause havoc. And in BR that's all he is, just a weird humorous roadbump on Corrin's path back to Nohr. But CONQUEST. Oh my god.
He's there to be an asshole. Everyone warns Corrin hey, this guy is probably bad news. You know the kind of people Iago likes. You know the kind of people Garon is keeping close to him these days. We can't trust him. If you don't want to kill him, fine, we'll do it for you.
But Corrin gives him a chance anyway. They're nice to him. They respect him. And you can see him being genuinely touched by their insistence that he's worth the risk. He spends time with Corrin, and sees how they do things, and he starts changing. He knows he's there to set Corrin up for Garon to torture and kill them, and he...
He stands up to Garon and says hey, you don't need to kill them. They're already suffering, look at how sad they are. Let them live. And he couches it in the implications of 'you can hurt them more if they live' but his face says it all. Corrin was nice to him and he doesn't want them to die.
And he pays for it with his life.
And maybe it's just me but it's so goddamn tragic. He was changing! He had the potential to be better! And it's all just destroyed in a second because the sludge monster in Garon doesn't like being told what to do. That's so goddamn sad to me!
Imagine what could've happened if he survived. If he got to join Corrin's army for real. If he decided to start using his incredible mimicry skills to help Corrin's cause.
So yeah. I have Opinions and Feelings.
Is there an antagonist in FE that you felt was underappreciated or that the devs could have written them better?
Routinely, it's usually the antagonists that are underutilized or are just too simple for me to really care.
I love Fates for example, but Iago, Hans and Zola are really, really meh. Ironically Hans is the only one who has like, a reason to be so awful, despite being the most beligerent murderer. But even then, they are quite boring and not any better than the generic bosses you'd come across.
Selena from FE8 is another one I can think of, mostly because I really don't like how the female members of the Camus archetype have their loyalty to their king/lord be tied up with also being subtly in love with them. I think her motivations are fine enough without that particular aspect. But even then, the fact that she's only sporadically seen and only fought on Ephraim's route also hampers her use as a character, though I may be biased in thinking that.
The Slithers and Edelgard are just written very badly, as well. I can accept the Slithers being the undeniably awful group if it weren't for their constant smug and full of themselves attitudes. They are always talking and acting as if they have the upper hand at all times, even when you've just beaten the shit out of them, and it's fucking annoying. You lose the satisfaction of taking them down a peg when they still act as if they're "so big brained and enlightened" and I feel that's a crucial element missing to making them feel entertaining rather than as a nuisance.
For Edelgard, there's nothing about her motivations or actions that'll make be believe she's a good person, but I wholeheartedly believe I could say I like her if the writers weren't addicted to adding misogynistic and infantalizing tones to her character. It strips her of a lot of her agency and presence when you also try to shove sex appeal and Moeblob Cuteness Factor on her plate. Why are we making jokes about "night crawling" into her bedroom? Why is she gushing about wanting to laze about all day eating sweets after she just declared war? Why is she drawing pictures of us like a middle schooler? Why is she made to say double entendres like in FEH where her level 40 conversation has her say "Do not misunderstand, but... I want you. Your wisdom, your ability... But more than any of that, your heart"? It's the same problem with Selena, where they treat Edelgard as if she can't be a fully realized character without also having romantic subtext at all times.
There's also a conversation to be had about characters constantly being brainwashed, especially the women. Aversa for example, is quite entertaining and dangerous, but it turns out she was just under the control of Validar the whole time. It's lame.
Thanks for the ask!

And I do think they should’ve brought Sandal back in Veilguard, because if he made the trick lyrium dagger, handed it over, and said “Enchantment!” I wouldn’t even bat an eye or consider it a deus ex machina moment. Like yeah of course he could make a perfect copy, and it would be so similar that it could trick Solas. It’s Sandal.
The plot hole would be that his copy would absolutely be capable of rending the Veil.

I remembered recently that I gave Zea the best tattoo in the world, so...
I'd like to think that Davrin also likes nugs :) (based on the sheer amount of them that this man carves on the daily)

I am a freak and that is ok
Anyone who hates on me for my writing has never picked up a pencil in their life
I should be more self indulgent
My characters should suffer more

i'm not saying people shouldn't be reading more books, but i do think it's funny how many people thinking "reading comprehension" is just about how good you are at reading books and not like. criticial thinking skills.

Inquisitor: Tell me about Anders? What was he like?
Hawke: No, you don't want to hear about Anders. You just want to hear about the mage who blown up the chantry.
Inquisitor: I-
Hawke: No, people never want to hear about all the good things he has done. The people he saved. You just want to hear about the chantry.
Hawke: If it was any other bulding, people would have said, oh thank the maker, somebody got rid of that eyesore, but no, it is the chantry. A place of peace, to whom, I don't know.
Hawke: Funny how nobody talks the chantry and how it's treated its mages for all these years. Let me guess it's the will of the maker that that the chantry has a bunch of ass-heads in it. The chantry can eat a nug turd for all I care.
Hawke: So, is that everything you wanted to know about Anders. Oh lord Inquisitor?
Inquisitor: Yes, that was everything. Thank you.

I just completed a collaboration with @toonybrin!
She created some gorgeous art, and I wrote a fic about her wonderful Rook: Millicent Ingellvar.
It’s a sweet little romp about her and Emmrich growing closer while exploring her hobby of Entemology.
Please enjoy!

new hc: emmrich cannot handle spice. at all. he has an impressive pallate and is a passable cook, but this man has the spice tolerance of a traslucent victorian child. sometimes pepper is too much for him. the first time lucanis makes a spicy meal for taash the spice is by FAR too much for him and he goes red from the collar up and starts sweating immediately
