My headcanon for TGCF gods/ghosts making it to modern times!

In my headcanon, I don't think they would cut their hair and would still prefer the comfort of dressing in their robes. Canonically, Xie Lian and Hua Cheng wore the same exact clothing and same hairstyle for 800 years, and all the other characters also have worn the same style of clothing and hair throughout centuries. So I feel like, they would be like "why would I cut my hair and wear uncomfortable clothes? Just because mortals decided they want to do it like, last week, we don't need to downgrade. Long hair and robes will be back in style in a century or so anyways..."

However! I think that in the modern times the god's power would definitely decrease as people are not that religious these days and their faith decreased significantly. Therefore, the gods wouldn't have the power to turn invisible when they are amongst mortals, but have to put on modern clothing to blend in, to their dismay, because jeans and polyester shirts are the worst when you're used to cotton, linen and real silk flowy robes.

I feel like both the Heaven and Ghost City would keep their traditional vibes and clothes, however Xie Lian, Hua Cheng and Yin Yu wouldn't have any issues acquiring new clothes in their style because amongst the ghosts there are definitely tailors who have been dead for centuries and still know how to sew good quality clothing.

But Heaven probably would struggle, because I don't think you can deputise someone just because they are good at sewing. So I imagine the gods would be very confused and disappointed when trying to hunt for good tailors coming across cosplayers/historical dressers and finding out that their clothing come from big manufacturers and made of plastic.

ive definitely talked abt this before, but i literally cannot relate to the posts that are like "ohhh you guys ship them romantically when theyre soo much more interesting as friends". i contain multitudes. i think they are best friends. i think they are lovers. i think they are soulmates in a way that cant be categorised. these statements dont conflict.
