I really love your artstyle! Could I maybe get some tips on how to give variety to faces? My style has a little same face syndrome unfortunately.
personally i found that when i used to sameface its because i was afraid of making an ‘ugly’ face but!! imo an ugly but interesting face is more fun than a good-looking but boring face. go forth
Sometimes when you look into the Void, the Void looks back… and maybe give directions if you ask nice enough. Remember to say “please” and “thank you” little ghost!
[Edit 2021-07-09: Added light and dark versions under the cut so folks in night mode can see the difference.]
"Bled as we did, under the cruel hand of fate, when we washed away the violence, the colour of fate's string remained.
Fortunately-- blood is red, but love is also red.
And so I have loved, lost, and found you. And now, I love you once again." (Quote by @axiang-n-chengling-s-dads )
The continuation to this much sadder: part 1
Artist's thoughts under cut:
[While the first installation of this comic portrays Dan Oh and Haru bound by the red string of fate, what I really wanted to show was the date they created themselves: which is why this second part, it begins from Trumpet Creeper, where Dan Oh is tied to Baek Kyung, and Haru, to Baek Kyung's sword. Because more than anything Haru is tied to Baek Kyung by his position in society as Kyung's loyal warrior, hence the sword. The string of fate then breaks when Dan Oh falls from the stairs, because her fate is no longer BK. The story has deviated, and she falls onto Haru, who's string of fate is short and ties to no one. Over time they tie the string of fate to each other. And then it is the same fate that they created that connects them in the next story. Though it is not visible properly, there are five knots in this string: each representing a period in which they were separated in one way or another.]
"Intertwined by the string of fate, we were too blinded to see that it was not destiny that stained us red, but blood.
And so, I have loved, and loved, and lost you." (Quote by @axiang-n-chengling-s-dads )
The happier, second part of the comic here: (part 2)
Artist's thoughts under the cut:
[Though Dan Oh and Haru essentially create their own fate in the show, what I wanted to portray here, is the truth of the relationship they have. When Haru initially appears in the show, we're full of hope: he will change things for the better forever. However, as the story progresses, it is this relationship that we'd thought would bring about positive change, that proves to be ill-fated in many ways as they battle the author and face the consequences. When they do discover their past connection, it is also a tragedy and bloody. Ultimately, Haru is taken away by the author leaving Dan Oh alone. In many ways, there have been a lot unfortunate events with them. With this string of fate, I wanted to demonstrate the sad ending the author had for the two of them. Part 2 of this comic demonstrates otherwise: i.e. that Dan Oh and Haru created their own fate, and it led to happy events and a happy ending.]
You’re a novice demon who managed to convince a mother to give up her first born in exchange for eternal youth. You did so, because it seemed like the thing all the other demons were doing, but now you are not sure what you are supposed to do with an infant and it’s way too late to ask.
