reddit's being a bitch and i need to show you all my deltarune theory

this game has fucked me over mentally SO hard these past days and i just finished chapter 4 so even though i havent used this account in a while, have a crack theory i have on the nature of deltarune (spoilers for ch4 secret boss ahead)

So, Old Man/Gerson/The Hammer of Justice has some lines detailing the Lord of the Hammer series, particularly that it was based on the prophecy. another important set of info is that he talks about said chapters OF Lord of the Hammer. its also pretty obvious that they line up with respective chapters of the game so heres my interpretations:

Chapter 1: The March of the Dark King - "The heroes defeat the king and stop the dragon."

while the "defeat the king" part is fairly obvious, "stopping the dragon" in this case is more vague. at the end of the fight however, Old Man mentions that Lord of the Hammer inspired Dragon Blazers, and in reply to Susie on which character from that game she is, is the Dragon. basically "stopping the dragon" is in reference to Susie opening up to the Fun Gang and i guess, "taming" her in a way.

Chapter 2: The City of the Shining - "The heroes do battle in chariots to save the queen."

the title itself refers to the dark world in Chapter 2, being the Cyber City. the "battle in chariots" likely refers to the Smart Race, Berdly's first boss fight, as they "do battle" in an unfinished roller coaster. as for "save the queen", this could likely be more metaphorical, saving Queen from her idea of creating a dark fountain in the dark world which, as seen in Chapter 4, spawns a FUCKING TITAN so yeah nice save Ralsei

Chapter 3: The Isles of Nothernlight - "The heroes travel among the islands and catch a glimpse of a lost land."

while im not sure what the island connection could mean, "catching a glimpse of a lost land" could tie into Chapter 3's, and Tenna's, themes of nostalgia. the "lost land" could extend to the Dreemurr Household during Tenna's flashback, when everything was nicer, and the Dreemurr and Holiday families were especially close.

Chapter 4: The Trials of the Holy Hammer - "A great smith gives the heroes a terrible weapon."

the synopsis could obviously apply to the secret boss itself, Gerson giving Susie the JusticeAxe, but also metaphorically. Gerson gives Susie motivation and confidence in herself, so that she can cast healing magic like Ralsei.

Chapter 5: The Field of Pink and Gold - "The vast garden is charred in an inferno of jealousy."

OH HELL YEAH THIS ONE'S JUICY. so my main theory for this synopsis is that it refers to imporant event/s within that chapter. in this case we can deduce that "the vast garden" could be the chapter's dark world, either being the Holiday Mansion's garden (unlikely, i'll say later), or Asgore's Shop, the Flower King. my guess is on the latter, as the references to fire in "charred in an inferno" could mean that he has fire powers in the dark world like in Undertale. while we don't see Toriel with fire magic in the dark world, she DOES use her robes from her Undertale appearance for church, so it's a possibility that the Deltarune Team could rehash the fire powers for Toriel and Asgore as well. as for "inferno of jealousy", we see (in many, MANY, awkward attempts) that he does still want to be with Toriel. however, it's been seen that she, on the other hand, has moved on, at least more than him. also she's getting closer to Sans (seen in his interactions in Chapter 1, the grocery shop cutscene in Chapter 2, as well as the ending of Chapter 4). my guess is that Asgore gets jealous of this newfound connection, and could be a plot point for this chapter.

its worth noting that after this, he doesn't mention anything about Chapter 6, only that it exists, so there's still no info for that. as for Chapter 7 though...

"There was only one more chapter. After that, it stopped." "That next book, it never did get written."

IT DOESN'T EXIST. IT WAS NEVER WRITTEN. AS GERSON (the lightner monster) DIED BEFORE FINISHING IT. but theres a caveat to this:

"The ones who could write the next, the youth, the pen was lying there for them to pick up. To make the next page." "They never did." "But you my dear? I see a story lit up in your eyes." "So... how do you think this all ends? No, how do you want it to end?"

Gerson asks Susie how she wants it to end. That she can write her own ending. To not be constrained by some prophecy, and to change fate itself. In other words, to be free.

An Introduction to the Windshift Universe

Deltarune Windshift is an alternate universe of Deltarune where in you play as Berdly who has just entered a new elite academy called the Lily Valley Academy. Berdly, already encumbered with the stress of having to adjust to a new environment, is thrown completely off the rails when he suddenly finds himself in a new magical world. However, he's not the only foreigner there as a mysterious deer girl catches his attention. They both plan to find a way to leave this new world together with the help of a petite little robot who promises to take them home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This AU is planned to be released in game form. However, we're quite short on hand currently (especially on the programming and sprite work side). If anyone would like to help with this project, we'd be more than happy to accept. However, this is a passion project so there'll be no pay.

So a main theme of Minecraft fanon is that the universe loves you

Consider, what if it's also really clueless about us players?

Think less "benevolent force of nature", more "benevolent eldritch squid of creation". Physics doesn't work quite right, the overworld is a block lasagna hovering over infinite void on a bedrock plate, the fact that there's like, 5 and a half tree species, ect are just what the universe gleaned from our knowledge. "Oh you have this...gray-brown thing, with green on top, okay I cna make that!" And so we have grass. Not quite life like, but identifiably grass.

This also explains why the world have more and more features over time; the universe didn't know anything, but it knows some things now. It learned. It is still learning.

We can take this further. What if the unexplainable things that have no real world basis are just. The universe's version of giving random stuff to your pet just to see what it would do. Enrichments. Sure, creepers and phantoms and wardens can hurt us but like, it would be so boring otherwise (okay we bitched about phantoms a lot, and tbf we got an off switch for them).

It's simultaneously so human and alien that something that can barely understand you, one that weilds unimaginable power, wants to see ypu loved.

Another day, another PhoenixCS video inspiring me to draw Minecraft women. But this time it's not a vanilla Minecraft mob, but instead the boss Ur-Ghast from the Twilight Forest mod. I've had the idea for what she'd look like for a while (cough multiple years cough), but only drew her now. The little girls on the doodle are supposed to be the Carminite Ghastlings that the boss summons.
