New arrivals: Beast Wars Blackarachnia and Silverbolt

War for Cybertron: Kingdom - Blackarachnia

Continuity: Primax (Beast Wars, Beast Machines)

Function: Femme fatale

Beast Mode: Black Widow spider

Blackarachnia was one of the Maximal protofoms on board the Axalon. When the ship followed the Darksyde into the distant past, the Axalon was damaged and ejected the protoforms into orbit around the planet.

Eventually, the stasis pod containing Blackarachnia dropped out of orbit. Tarantulas got to her first and manipulated her pod's scanner, making it scan a black widow spider so that she could be more like him (their original toys were the same mold, just with different colors and using the other head. Tarantulas uses the "mutant" head, while Blackarachnia used the "robot" head)

Blackarachnia proved to be very self-serving and manipulative - just like Tarantulas. But ultimately, Beast Megatron's schemes went too far. The time-storm threatened her existence. She decided then to join the Maximals, and even using the Transmetal Driver to attemptnto remove her Predacon shell program.

Beast Mode: Fuzor - Wolf and Eagle hybrid

Silverbolt's pod was damaged by an energy surge. When it crash-landed, it scanned two animals at once for his beast mode, making him a Fuzor. Additionally, he lost his memories and his shell program was disabled. Megatron attempted to recruit him and fellow Fuzor Quickstrike, but Silverbolt's good nature prevented him from following through.

Like many Maximals and some Predacons, he developed attraction toward Blackarachnia. However, he had the courage and dogged (heh) determination to actually pursue her. He was convinced that somewhere in her Spark her heroic Maximal nature still resided. After a situation that required the two to work together to survive, a genuine romance begun. Silverbolt's persistence was one of the factors that helped turn Blackarachnia back to a Maximal.

Their relationship was challenged when they returned to Cybertron. Blackarachnia's Transmetal 2 body rendered her resistant to Megatron's transformation-lock virus, but Silverbolt's Fuzor status couldn't shield him. His Spark was extracted and used to give higher intelligence to the Vehicon general Jetstorm. Now, it was her turn to redeem him. She was able to reformat him into a techno-organic body, but his experience as Jetstorm shook him to his core. Jetstorm was evil. And Silverbolt found that he enjoyed it. Healing would come over time, accelerated by the defeat of Megatron and liberation of Cybertron.
