Yesterday I had lunch at an Italian joint and ordered an appetizer innocuously named "stuffed mozzarella bread" like oh okay it'll be a lil stromboli, a tiny calzone N O it was basically a grilled cheese sandwich filled with housemade mozzarella breaded in more bread then deep fried and doused in vodka sauce. VODKA SAUCE. Nothing about that descriptor could have prepared me for the insane masterpiece that confronted me on that plate. I wept. I could only eat 4 bites and my tummy hurt so bad. I tried to order a glass of wine and was told it was a dry town so that was impossible. tHAT was impossible but this appetizer existed?? I loved every part of this experience.
