Turtle Coffee Orders

Because it's extremely important that we figure out what these boys want from the coffee shop:

Leo

Leo is a tea guy. It makes him feel proper and mature, and he finds tea restorative and calming. He likes being familiar with different types of teas and their profiles and health benefits. He'll go black, green, herbal, whatever, but he's a tea guy, no milk, no sugar, no adornments. If he's feeling a bit sassier than usual, however, he might go for some boba.

Raph

Coffee, black, preferably the grossest convenience store sludge you can find. Not necessarily because he actually likes it that way, but because coffee is an aesthetic, and he wants to project basically the opposite of whatever Starbucks has going on. He's a simple guy who likes simple coffee, and not those fangled froofy frappalappadingdong things that Mikey gets.

Donnie

There is no stock image of Donnie's coffee order, so this is the closest I can find. But you know how Starbucks sells quad shots? Triple that. Give him a triple quad. He'll knock it back in two gulps, then build a nuclear reactor from random garbage he found. For Donnie, coffee is not an aesthetic, it's fuel. Preferably jet fuel.

Mikey

Mikey likes big, sugary frappalappadingdongs. The more horrified his brothers look by it, the better. If he can get jelly beans or licorice on it, he will. His aesthetic is sweet chaos, and his ADHD requires generous helpings of sugar to get through the day.

tmnt 2003 headcanons: Horror Movies

Mikey:

Absolute scream queen

He's so dramatic. He's covering his eyes, screaming and hiding over a movie he's seen probably 15 times.

He'll be cowering one minute and then the next he's info dumping about the lore.

But Mikey LOVES horror movies the cheesier the better.

and he doesn't just watch the movie he knows all the facts about the lore, the actors and the production and he will talk your ear off throughout the whole movie.

Raph:

Raph gets too invested and starts yelling at the tv.

You know those videos of dogs barking at horror movies? That's him.

He'll yell at the protagonist and then 10 seconds later he'll act all cool and start insisting that he'd be able to take down the ghost/serial killer.

He will describe in detail how he would mma-style wreck that guy and escape the creepy cabin completely unscathed.

He's out loud re-writing the story where he's the main character.

Donnie:

Donnie ruins the movie because something scientifically inaccurate will happen and he'll be like "Wrong."

He cannot suspend his disbelief for even one second.

He'll predict what's going to happen in the movie but his predictions are always way more horrific than what actually happens and everyone is like "How did you even think of that what's wrong with you?"

Donnie will watch whatever you put on the tv but horror movies aren't his favorite because he thinks they're usually pretty bad.

Leo:

The fun of horror movies for him isn't even the movie it's his brothers reactions.

Leo himself is completely stone faced.

Leo getting all comfy cozy with a blanket and a cup of tea to watch the most gory movie they own.

One time during a tense scene something just possessed Leo and he HAD to jump scare Raph. It was like he was taken over by his older brother instinct. And he got Raph so bad because he was NOT expecting Leo to do that. It's one of his fondest memories.

I'm so sorry this took so long! I was out of town for all of January and then I got swamped with school and work. But I love this prompt so much! In these head canons I'm assuming this is on average days where they aren't on late night patrols or anything. Just more casual days.

Leonardo:

Leo goes to bed (or at least falls asleep) late. But he is usually the first to get up in the morning.

I feel like Leo enjoys the quiet first thing in the morning. He likes to get up, make tea and just relax in the living room for like half an hour before anyone else gets up.

He might slip outside for a little bit and watch the sunrise while it's still quiet out.

Tea is his preference for a morning drink but he'll take coffee if he's really tired.

First thing in the morning Leo is usually pretty calm and relaxed. I feel like he might even be more sociable in the morning. Like if someone is up at the same time as him he'll suggest they go out and watch the sunrise together and hang out for a bit.

As a kid, the morning is when Leo got a lot of one on one time with Splinter. He and Splinter would be the first ones up, Splinter would make him tea and breakfast and they would talk. So mornings are kind of domestic and peaceful for Leo.

He wakes up around 6-7. Maybe even as early at 5 depending on how late he was up the previous night.

Raphael:

Usually wakes up to the sound of his family being loud.

If left to his own devices he would naturally wake up at around 10, but he's a light sleeper so he's up around the time Leo, Splinter and Mikey start making noise.

The first thing he does is go and eat breakfast. He just heads straight for whatever Mikey just made and if Mikey didn't make anything then it's cereal straight out of the box for Raph.

Raph isn't cranky in the morning he's actually pretty quiet. He just wanders into the kitchen, casually grunts to announce he is awake, eats his breakfast and lets his brain catch up with him.

Once he is awake enough he'll usually go and do a pre-training work out to get warmed up.

Wakes up at around 8:30-9.

Donatello:

He sets 10 different alarms and he might actually get out of bed at alarm #7.

He violently rolls over, slams his snooze button and goes right back to bed. The movement is so swift now the alarm will only go off for a second so it doesn't wake up the entire house (Not that it matters because he is probably the last on up anyway)

Doesn't even wipe the crust out of his eyes before he is checking his phone.

Donatello is actually the one who is cranky in the morning. If he is awoken before his alarm there will be bloodshed.

He won't be functional for at least 15 minutes right after he wakes up. He makes a beeline for the kitchen, gets coffee and just sits at the table and stares into his mug.

He gets up at 9:30 exactly because that's the latest splinter will let him sleep in for before he starts making comments about the importance of a balanced sleep schedule.

But the day after late night missions he will sleep until 1 pm no problem.

Michelangelo:

Mikey is naturally a morning person. Even when he is up late he rarely sleeps in past 9.

When Mikey was a kid, all the good cartoons were on first thing in the morning. Also Splinter let him watch tv before training so the earlier he was up, the more he could watch. So that trained Mikey to be up when the sun comes up

Mikey's mornings are slow and relaxing. He gets up, wanders down into the kitchen and starts making breakfast. He will throw on some coffee and he'll cook for everybody. Then when he is done he will grab a blanket, sit on the couch and watch cartoons while he eats breakfast. (He never grew out of loving a good morning cartoon)

His usual breakfasts are pancakes, scrambled eggs, waffles, french toast and bacon he likes something sweet in the morning.

Also I bet he puts a ton of cream and sugar in his coffee.

He's upbeat in the morning and he's probably pretty loud. His brothers will wake up to the sound of loud singing and dishes clanging in the kitchen.

On average he wakes up at around 7-8.

Splinter watches hallmark movies

TMNT Christmas headcanons:

- Mikey is ridiculously, over the top festive. Mikey is decking the lair in layers of holly. In 12, he's decking out the dojo tree and aggravating Splinter with it. He bakes Christmas cookies. He wraps gifts elaborately. He watches, and has memorized, every Christmas special released in the English language. He would play Christmas carols all month if the rest of the family would put up with it. Mikey believed wholeheartedly in Santa until approximately one year before any given show or movie came out, and even then only stopped because Leo finally sat him down and told him.

- Raph pretends to be a grinch but isn't. Rolls his eyes at Mikey's antics and started trying to talk him out of the Santa thing when they were still toddlers (it didn't work). His favourite Christmas movie is Die Hard (it's actually Love Actually, but he won't tell anyone that). Is actually, stealthily, excellent at both selecting and wrapping gifts. Complains that he's Christmas-coloured all year round.

- Donnie is the best gift-giver in the family, because he painstakingly makes gifts for everyone in his lab. Doesn't bother wrapping, just slaps a tag on each gift and under the tree they go. Pours eggnog into his coffee during the month of December. Refuses to allow Mikey to decorate the lab but grudgingly gives him some kind of makeshift mechanical tree in a corner to go nuts on, and is the resident Christmas Light Repairman. Unironically enjoys the Star Wars Holiday Special.

- Leo is terrible at picking out gifts and worse at wrapping them. Wound up having to have the Santa talk twice, with both Donnie and Mikey, because neither of them would believe Raph. Piles everyone into whatever vehicle they have for each version to look at Christmas lights while Raph complains. He is one of two brothers most likely to try to peek at wrapped gifts before Christmas. Also unironically enjoys the Star Wars Holiday Special. Has tried to carve a turkey with his katanas at least once.

tmnt 2012 donatello headcanons

He does NOT drink enough water

And when he does get a glass of water he chugs it in 2 seconds because he remembers he hasn't had any water all day and he's actually very parched

He drinks so much coffee that he has just adapted to drinking it black. Also he will drink any brand, any strength at any temperature with whatever in it he has no standards

Something about Donnie attracts people that overshare. Something about him makes people go "I'm gonna tell this guy my deepest darkest secrets unprompted."

He cannot sing for the life of him. He is just incapable of it. He's completely tone deaf.

Donnie likes his food more on the bland side. When they get pizza he actually prefers just a cheese pizza. He picks things off his pizza all the time and usually give it to Mikey. He's big on texture so he doesn't green peppers or olives on his pizza. Weirdly enough he is okay with pineapple though.

Donnie has a whole double online life where he's involved in a lot of online forums for various hobbies and he has a few online friends. He'll message them about random stuff he's working on so he'll be smiling and giggling at his computer and someone will be like "Ooh, Donnie who are you messaging?", and Donnie is like "Oh my friend Greg, we're talking about motherboards." And Greg is like a 45 year old man from Australia he met on reddit

He is the only one in the house with any streaming service account. Everything is under his name and everyone is constantly pestering him to come fix the tv.

He's got a stress ball at his desk and it is worn.

Sometimes when he's working on something he'll listen to classical music. Partially because it helps him focus but also because it lowkey makes him feel like a mad scientist.

tmnt 2012 Raphael headcanons

He makes Mikey get rid of all the bugs in the house. If there is bug in the room he will refuse to be in that room until it is eliminated. Mikey insists on saving the bugs so Raph makes him deal with them otherwise Raphie smash

Raph is a little bit of a romantic. The fbi wouldn't be able to get this information out of him but sometimes he likes to watch classic romance movies just cause he thinks the story is sweet. He would absolutely never do this around anyone else though except for maybe Mona Lisa. Otherwise, he's taking that to his grave

I feel like his fear of bugs originated when he was a kid. He was in bed and this monstrously huge cockroach was crawling on him in the dark. He felt it crawling up his arm so he turned on the light and saw it and just about went into cardiac arrest

He refuses to watch any movie where the dog dies

He likes super freaky, gory horror movies but if there's a dog in the movie he won't watch it because if anything happened to the dog he would scream

He sucks to watch horror movies with though because he spends the whole time talking about how he would actually be able to survive. Like no offence to those teens who just got murdered but Raph is simply built different. They're watching a scary scene with the serial killer and Raph is just like "Yeah I could take him."

Raph is the go to brother when you can't beat a video game level

Him and Casey have this ongoing bit where they jokingly flirt with each other (casey started it)

Raph will save him and Casey will be like "Damn bro you're actually kinda dreamy ngl"

No one (except mikey) likes sharing a pizza with Raph because he makes it way too spicy

Idk if you've already done this, but have you done how they would deal with panic/hard feelings?

I haven't yet! This one is interesting. I focused more on panicking/fear but I'll make another post for hard feelings, how they act when they're mad, etc. I was thinking about the 03 turtles when I wrote this mainly but it's sort of just my head canons for the turtles in general.

Leo:

I feel like when Leo panics, it's less visible. You might mistake his panicking for just general stress but in his mind he is losing it.

He'll get pushy and impatient.

He'll be anxiously pacing.

When he's starting to panic he starts desperately trying to keep track of everyone in his mind. His head will be darting around in all different directions because he's trying to keep tabs on everybody

In general though, I think Leo is good at keeping his head when he's panicking. He is able to filter out what is important at the moment and what isn't.

And I feel like Leo's panic response sort of hits after the situation has been dealt with. He will handle it in the moment and then the second it's over, he snaps.

His habit is bottling things up until he explodes.

After a high stress situation, Leo needs to be alone. He'll go some place private and just let it out. He won't do this around other people except maybe Splinter.

I could see after a particularly bad mission, he comes home and after everyone's been taken care of he goes into his room and cries for a good half hour. I feel like it would be kind of cathartic for him.

Or he starts replaying the situation in his head and spiraling into what-ifs.

It helps him to talk the whole thing out with Splinter.

Raph:

When Raph is afraid he gets snappy and jumpy. He'll be visibly on edge and probably pretty irritable.

When he is full on panicking I think he would enter a blind rage. Not out of anger but as a fear response. He'll start desperately attacking whatever the threat is. He loses his judgement pretty quickly.

The more panicked he gets the more impulsive and aggressive he gets

Also, notice how some iterations of Raph (I'm thinking bayverse and mutant mayhem) start making heartfelt confessions when he thinks they're all about to die? I feel like that's a Raph thing. In moments of high stress all his pent up feelings just come flooding out.

I think after a really high stress situation, Raph becomes pretty mellow. Also he'll get really tired. He might get upset about the situation again later but in the moment he'll just be exhausted

Afterwards, I could see Raph wanting to spend some alone time, but I could more see him wanting other people around. He'll want some quiet company. He might not say much but he'll stick around the room where everyone is. I think it would comfort him to just be in a mundane and safe environment with everybody.

Donnie:

When Donnie is scared he starts rapid fire thinking of solutions. He shuts everything else out and tries to laser-focus on whatever he's doing.

This makes him block a lot of stuff out and he might not notice or respond to things. He'll blank out for a second and go into his own head but eventually he'll snap back.

When he's panicking, and it's from something he can't solve or analyze, like something flying directly at his head, he'll freeze.

He might start overthinking or over complicating things. In really bad cases he'll be over thinking something so much he'll forget really basic information.

Donnie has the patience of a saint but if someone rushes him when he's under pressure he will obliterate them.

After a stressful situation, Donnie becomes a bit reserved. Like Leo, he'll start replaying the situation in his mind. He'll think about how he could have prevented it, if there will be any repercussions, if he did a good enough job, etc. He'll be a bit jittery and restless. He'll start bouncing his leg or shaking a little.

When he comes home he starts looking for a distraction. He'll be so in his own head he'll need something to distract himself from his own thoughts. He'll immediately start working on/researching something.

Mikey:

If Mikey is afraid, he will say so. Even if he is completely alone he will still say so out loud. He'll get jumpy and easily startled. He also uses humor to mask/cope with fear.

When he is anxious he fiddles with things in his hands, especially his nun-chucks.

But if he picks up that everyone is panicking, he'll force himself to calm down and become a bit more level headed. He'll become unusually serious and focused on whatever they're doing. He also might try to calm other people down, particularly Leo and Raph.

When he gets anxious he'll start slipping up and making stupid mistakes, and then he'll get insecure about those mistakes and start to spiral even more.

When he's panicking he gets flustered and frantic.

Afterwards he might be a bit shaken but he usually comes back down pretty quickly.

He likes to be around people afterwards. He's usually the one to lighten the mood and I think he purposely makes an effort to do that.

He'll be pretty good for a few hours but I think when he goes to bed or is by himself it will hit him again

Sometimes he'll read a comic or play a game or do something fun to get his mind off things
