♡ tips for new caregivers ♡
disclaimer: ageregression is not a kink, it is a coping mechanism. it is where a person reverts to the headspace of a baby, toddler, child or kid due to ptsd/trauma, or simply just for fun! this is a judge free, hate free page, any and all hate will be removed & blocked. if you are a mik (minor in k!nk), map(pedø), or sexualize age regression, please dni! thank you! ♡
1. get to know how old your little is, some age regressors can get to as young as a baby, some can be kids around 10 years old! some littles can be any age, which are called agesliders! so when your baby is regressed, ask how old they are! :)
2. some tinies go nonverbal, meaning they can’t/don’t speak, so if they do go nonverbal, do not force them to try and talk. ask them simple questions, such as “hold up how old you are on your fingers? do you want to color? are you hungry?” don’t use complex sentences/questions!
3. some baby’s have tantrums/meltdowns, do not be mean about it. tantrums can be a result of having a bad day while they were big, being overstimulated, having flashbacks, and it can be as simple as a change of voice while you were talking to them, so just be careful.
4. set some rules with your tiny! such as a bedtime/naptime, when to eat, playtime rules, what they are allowed to say, (such as no cussing, backtalk, bratty behavior, etc.) punishments for breaking rules, whatever you can think of. don’t be afraid to put your foot down!
5. help your little but also let them have a teeny bit of independence.
6. baby your baby! call them cute nicknames! such as: pumpkin, princess/prince, sweetheart, and anything you can think of :)
7. pay attention to the little things. some littles chew the skin on their lip, their fingernails, the skin on the inside of their cheek, pick at their fingers, so just pay attention and when you see that they are doing something that results in them hurting themselves, even in a small way, get them to stop.
8. reassurance! reassure your little that their feelings are valid, and so are yours. being a caregiver is difficult and your feelings are also valid!
9. do not take away comfort items. these can me pacifiers, stuffed animals, blankets, toys, and more.
10. do not ignore your little as a punishment.
11. do not yell at them, it can trigger them.
