finally read it like a year later so here’re my thoughts. will contain spoilers.

- we did not get alastair playing the piano, we didn’t get much of him in general :(

- this kinda happened? james recognized how hard it must’ve been for alastair, and thomas gets to talk with him a little bit. most people knew he was a drunk anyways

- we got some carstairs sibling content!!! the small acknowledgments and them looking after each other was adorable

- nope. :(

- eh. there’s a lot more acknowledgment of it and everyone’s worried about him, and at the end cordelia finally attempts to convince him not to drink in paris

- i don’t think there was any alastair and ariadne rip

- not many people forgave alastair. he didn’t really forgive himself

- 😬. i mean cordelia didn’t forgive him and james got angry at him and a few times he was called out for stuff and then he died. oop.

- we got some science grace!!!

there’s a lot more i could talk about but i’m still processing everything that happened and i cannot form coherent thoughts.

I'm bored so im just going to list all the things i want in chain of iron.

-alastair playing the piano. i dont even care if no one hears, i just want him to connect to his childhood and have some happiness

-the merry theives meeting elias. i feel like many of them would recognize him as an alcoholic almost immediantley because of matthew, and hopefully it would help them realize that alatairs' had a hard life.

-alastair and cordelia bonding

-maybe some carstairs sibling musical performances cause that would be adorable

-matthew getting some help

-alastair and ariadne friendship

-i just want everyone to forgive alastair

-also alastair forgiving himself

-cordelia confronting her father

-basically i just want to have elias confronted on his bullshit

-maybe jem can roast him
