The amount of negativity and trauma that weighs on even my own name has brought be down the rabbit hole. The devil took hold of Zachary and he was lost within his suffering in silence. "Be the best you that you can be." To live by this is to not only live up to your expectations, but to those around you that have their expectations of you set in stone, and any expectations you have that differ from theirs must conform to them. I detest that. The age old philosophy, "To be, or not to be?" rings true to the sentence Zachary has lived by all of his life, "Be the best you that you can be." The age old philosophy has an answer of compromise; To become. To become the best me that I can be, I must find the personification of that who I strive to be; and that personification has a name: Tobias Rae Crowven. Think of this as a "New Game+ Therapy." I keep all the things, people, abilities, everything I worked hard to achieve, and even some of the memories I've made along the way. But all the negative things that came to control me, i.e. the sources of my Chronic PTSD, and the things I've done that I regret, are laid to rest in the grave that is Zachary Anthony Pontalion. Close friends and loved ones have noticed a full 180° turn in my personality, mental state, and mood after taking on this new name, and I am finally happy being the REAL me. This name change is under no circumstances being done as an act against my family name, as I love my family with my heart and soul. I am just doing this so that I can heal, become the person I've wanted to be for so long, and move on from the things that have kept me up at night. My name is Tobias Rae Crowven. You can call me Toby! And I appreciate those who have given me so much support in this endeavor. One day, this change will be made legal.
