stuff got crazy for a few days but tomorrow should be much more chill and i’ll actually finish the starters i was gonna finish......................two days ago

between four different emergencies at the bakery, and being called to the school for both ali and theo individually because they both chose the same day to go full chaos mode, juliette is e x h a u s  t e d by the time she’s finally able to just go home. though she knows she really should have made the twins cancel their plans for tonight after the trouble they got into   ...   she’s willing to admit she’s just too tired, and allows them to run off to their respective sleepovers under the promise that tomorrow there will be serious discussion and consequences. 

while there are more than enough takeout places still open, she drops her bag by the door and goes right for the kitchen. it doesn’t matter that she set her day putting out fires ( some literal ) at the bakery today, there is a comfort being in her kitchen. setting to work making something comforting. she goes for fresh lumpia, it’s one of the first things her mom taught her how to make. and she’s been making it so long that she can simply turn her mind off and b r e a t h e. 

without thinking, she makes enough for two ( okay really five ), and as she’s nearly finished the door opens and juliette looks up, unsurprised to see andy walking in. it’s lucky she’s gotten into the habit of making more than enough on the off chance her friend shows up.  “   you have impeccable timing,   ” she states while offering andy a warm, though tired, smile.
