Children are great an observing their parents or teachers and picking up from them. Even when it comes to writing, let your children observe your writing and take efforts to write clear large alphabets so that they can learn from you. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Are you getting too bothered about your child writing within the box? Don’t be. The importance is not about writing perfectly within the box of his writing worksheet but try to focus on the process of writing and appreciate your child’s effort in trying to get the right shape of the alphabet. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

When children have difficulties with writing, it doesn’t mean they’re not smart. Different children develop writing skills at different rates, and some take longer than others to learn these skills or might even never get good at writing but they may be great at everything else. Don’t judge a child simply with their writing skills. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Like most other activities that a toddler picks up, writing too takes lots of practice, so make sure your child doesn't get discouraged too easily. It's not easy! Give her plenty of opportunities to practice so that she has the opportunity to keep improving. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Avoid writing for your child Don't write an assignment for your child that will be turned in as her work and stop yourself from rewriting your child's work. Completing a homework task on time, taking responsibility for the finished product, and feeling ownership of it are also important parts of the writing process. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

As a parent or even as a teacher try focusing on "what" the child has written rather than "how" it was written. It's usually wise to ignore minor errors, particularly at a stage when the child is just getting ideas together and beginning to express them in words. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Allow time. Help your child spend time thinking about a writing project or exercise. Good writers often spend a lot of time thinking, preparing and researching before starting to write. Your child may dillydally, sharpen a pencil, get papers ready, or look up the spelling of a word. Be patient — this may all be part of her preparation. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Create a fun message board at home for all family members to write messages to each other. This will encourage your toddler to give it a shot too. You can appreciate the effort even if they manage to get a scribble in. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Writing is a great milestone in every child’s life. The feel of achievement when a child scribbles his first lines or alphabets is magical. Children see adults writing with so much ease that they automatically aspire to do the same. However as a parent you must be more controlled with the same aspiration. The importance is in the will of a child to try writing not about how perfectly he writes. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Writing on books is boring? Switching it up by writing with something other than a pen or pencil and on something other than a book can also make the writing exercise a lot of fun. Sidewalk chalk on the driveway, finger painting, or a salt writing tray are all fun writing activities that will also help build children’ writing skills. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Creative worksheets can make writing and reading a fun exercise for children. While the focus is not about getting it right, the main idea is to clear all mental blocks about being able to move around the worksheet and make learning fun. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

Reading is the stepping stone to writing. Regular reading helps children’ strengthen their writing skills. It helps expand children’s vocabulary and shows them different ways of using words. This also makes it easier for them to use these words in their own writing. http://www.toddlersnursery.org

For children who are already learning to write, here is a fun way to make the exercise extra special. When children are starting to write, the first word to teach them is their own name. It is one of the most memorable words they will learn to write, and it sets the stage for kindergarten and beyond. http://www.toddlersnursery.org
