          “It’s really not.” He sets his phone aside anyways. “It’s a little hard to ignore when he spams the group chat like that, Eusine.” The man must have some weakness that Morty can exploit. The only thing that worries him is that Grimsley will surely find some way to work around it. The man seems frighteningly flexible.

     He stares at his phone as if its personally offended him. It wouldn’t be too far from the truth. Would it be too forward of him to ask Volkner to remove Grimsley from the chat? That wouldn’t cause any internal strife, would it?

"Just surprised? I see. Well--it's good to have you back, Eusine. It has been a rather long time since we've last spoken, yes? I believe we have much to catch up on. Has your trip been well?"

Eusine was looking rather nervous, if his expression was anything to judge by. Hopefully Morty's best friend hadn't assumed that Morty would be angry with him for his long absence. It was not unusual. The man was busy with his research while Morty had a gym to occupy him. Should he have greeted Eusine first? Teased him? Ask him where he had been?

"Oh, dear."

"I believe we are, once again, open for business."

"Is something the matter, Eusine?"

"Hm."

He's really close to just pulling the covers over himself and going back to bed.

"I suppose that it would feel like years to a certain number of us. I apologize. I seem to have gotten buried underneath my work." He's gotten slightly more busy. Either that or his laziness finally caught up with him. "Hello, Eusine." He is excited though but he's not going to yell. Morty? And yelling? Impossible.

"Morty, that greeting was lacking passion! It’s been far too long since we’ve seen each other! It feels like years!” Puts his hand up like it’s a symphony and motions for him to repeat it. “Hello, Morty!” Now you’re supposed to seem excited.

He wasn't expecting that but it's nice getting tackled once in a while.

"Eusine, hello."

"--Steven...was it? Hello." Must be his lucky day because he is meeting all sorts of nice people today. A guy could really get used to this and fast. "...you're the second person who seems to be so far from home tonight. Is there anything that I can do for you?"

'That incident?' There was no incident, haha! Jeez. Kids these days are honestly so ridiculous. There was nothing that even happened? “Hello there!” Go for it, Steven. You're a different man, now.
