Here, it has definitely been too hot to me. And it’s exacerbated by the huge amount of humidity. I don’t even want to go outside and admire the plants right now, I just want to curl up inside where the air conditioning is.

I'm lucky I can do that though. People in Gaza do not have a place they can retreat to. Their tents (if they have them) do not protect from extreme heat. Worse still, Israel has denied Gazans from entering the Mediterranean Sea (link is an Israeli source; sorry, it was the first source that came up) - they aren't allowed to even go in there to get a slight relief from the extreme heat.

My friend Siraj @siraj0 tells me that things in Gaza are the worst they've ever been. He says that a bag of flour (if you can find it) is $1,300. And he has to support 24 people including himself with that flour. I don't need to be a mathematician to figure out that's an atrocious amount of money.
