Kyle was walking down the road of gotham, he hadn’t been there in months since getting his ring and joining the corps. He needed someone to give him directions to the nearest hotel or to one of his earth friends. He tapped someone shoulder who was sitting at the bus stop. 

“Yeah… Sorry, I’m kinda new and I was wondering if there were any hotels around here, well good ones?”

    “ hm, i don’t think so. i don’t really stay at any hotels when i’m around here- “ kaldur paused and narrowed his eyes, looking the stranger up and down for a second. “ was that an attempt at a pick up line? ask me to show you a good hotel so you can take me upstairs?”

☾     logan obediently sat herself down beside him gently, crossing her legs under her once the task was complete. she laughed softly at his action and pinched his cheek again before focusing her attention on the bag of candy now nestled in her lap. “why are we waiting for the bus? why don’t you just let me fly you,” she asked, looking up at him while stuffing sour straws in her mouth. “you can even take your sneakers off!”

  “ well, i didn’t know you’d be popping in or i would’ve asked, “ he gave her bag of candy a side glance before swooping in with a quick hand to grab a piece. “ and now i’m more excited to take the bus. it’s a small adventure. we don’t use them back home, ever. “

🍃     “did you tap me he says.” garfield laughed, immediately throwing himself into the seat beside kaldur. in honesty, he had been talking to him for a good two minutes before realizing he had in earbuds, but let’s save gar’s reputation and not mention that. “yeah, i wanted to know what someone that’s almost as good looking as me is doing going somewhere without a hot date. me, i’m the hot date. where are we going?”

   kaldur scoots over instinctively to make more room for garfield on the bus seats, resting his shoulder against the window with a wide smile. “ are you saying that i’m required to be your date now? i was heading to the aquarium. “

   “ are you accusing me of tapping you? ” dick asks, narrowing his eyes playfully.  he’s still got one hand suspended in air from the said tap.  “ just wonderin’ if you were in there, kal. ”

    “ i’ll bite you next time, dick. “ kal rolls his eyes fondly, putting his headphones away in his pocket. “i’m like half here, the other half is already thinking ahead to the delicious sandwich waiting for me. “

☾     it wasn’t hard to spot the familiar body from where she flew up above and lo’gania quickly swooped down. in no time she was floating behind her close friend and teammate, resting her chin on his shoulder. “hm, did i?” the alien laughed, reaching out to pinch kaldur’s cheek happily. “what are you doing here? where are we going?” fun fact about logan: everything was a field trip with her.

   kaldur laughed, looking back down the street for any sign of the bus that was suppose to be coming within the next ten minutes. “ i’m taking the bus to go visit a friend, you can come but you’ll be stuck on the ground with the rest of us. “ he reached a hand up to tug on her fingers.

Gongyi nudges closer and openly stares the boy up and down again. “Yes, I hope you don’t mind the bother, but I noticed you have gills.” A pause.” Are you Atlantean?” Generally speaking the Leviathans were not the most fond of their sun-water dwelling upstairs neighbours, but it has be a good half century since he woke up and he had some questions that have yet remained unanswered.

   kal’s hand moved up to touch the spot where his gills lied, usually he kept it tucked away under his coat because it was odd having it out around random strangers, but he had worn a short sleeve instead. “ yeah, i am. gills, tattoos, usually barefoot. “

although it’s been a solid month, she still wasn’t quite used to public transportation. often times she wished she should simply put on her costume and sing her way over to fact news but it would be too risky. that really got her was she couldn’t even play pokemon go on the bus because of the 20mph speed cap. she half-heartedly took a seat and casually looked around until she saw it. there was a little june bug on the boy’s shoulder in front of her. she new if she were in his shoes she wouldn’t want the bug on herself, so she tapped his shoulder. “hey, yeah, i just wanted to let you know there’s a beetle on your shoulder. i think june bug season is starting.”

     “ huh? “  kal glanced around again, and noticed the bug on his shoulder with a wide frown. he gave a solid brush to the beetle, shifting in his seat to put more distance between him and wherever the bug had landed. “ thanks, i’m not a huge fan of bugs. i didn’t realize there’s a whole season for a month of bugs. “

     “ sardines move far more in sync with each other, i doubt they’d really be bumping fins, “ kal replies, off-handedly. however, he makes a subtle shift in his body to angle away from the other to try and give the man some more space. “ sorry to bother you then, sir. “

    kaldur’ahm tapped his thigh along to the beat of his music at the bus stop, mind wandering to how uncomfortable it was to have to wear sneakers- he wanted nothing more than to kick them off and dig his toes into the grass. but, most places in gotham wouldn’t let him inside without shoes. at the slightest nudge or maybe it was a bump, he took out an earbud to glance around.
