of course many many people in the goodreads reviews of gender trouble expecting pop sociology and disappointed that it is in fact academic philosophy. more mysteriously however a subset of people seem to have actually found pop sociology in it

Unwashed canvas, raw and unapologetic—Jessica Bell’s ‘All things being equal,’ a minimalist abstraction that resonates with the essence of Ottawa in 2015.

The People's Letters is a new co-operative bookshop run exclusively by multiply marginalized workers including sex workers, with a primary goal of uplifting work by marginalized authors and creatives. We especially want to platform them when they make content about stigmatized topics that other bookshops might refuse to stock!
We have a priority to serve the sex worker community and uplift writing by sex workers, and as such that makes us a rare and niche bookshop. We're the only project like this in the UK. In the aftermath of our previous employment at The Scarlett Letters (read more here), which was terminated as a form of union-busting and involved an occupation of our workplace ended by our employer drilling through the locks with over a dozen people at 4am while we slept inside, we need your support to re-open and work on our mission.
If you sign up for even the lowest tier of our Patreon, you'll get an e-book copy of Working Guys: A Transmasculine Sex Worker Anthology included which usually costs the same as a month's subscription. You can also get perks like reviews, writing about sex worker creative projects and exhibitions, art by booksellers, zines, and more!
Please share this and help our radical bookshop to survive and eventually thrive!

Hello! My name is Miriam, I'm French and I need help from Londoners. I'm going to London at the end of August and would love to see at least one play. But I know very little about London theaters and I don't know what to choose.
If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them! In exchange, I can advise you on French theaters...
Some info:
- No musicals.
- No classics EXCEPT if it's really an exceptional production, not to be missed etc.
- Preferably contemporary authors.
- I know and love Sarah Kane, Harold Pinter and Martin Crimp.
- In Paris, I like to see plays by Joël Pommerat, Wajdi Mouawad, Tiphaine Raffier, Christophe Honoré, Tiago Rodrigues, sometimes Julien Gosselin and Thomas Ostermeier. I also love discovering lesser-known authors, independent theater companies etc.
Thank you very much! Don't hesitate to reblog!
