tommy on stream at 3 am like "haha well technically i can say tranny"
counterpoint - he says the whole i can relate to lesbians thing again but this time he clarifies it's technically true
that would be really really funny.Maybe tommyinnit should try estrogen for the bit

in the first like 5 mins of this video angela says "YEAH" with her full heart to the question "are you a lesbian" . like with her heart and soul she said that shit. Yes it was for a bit but it was real to me

Idk the thing I'm liking about this album is its more unmarketable tracks. Like alot of this feels like it could not be sung on stage so a tour would be hard. Feels like a new more artsy era for her which is kinda what I had anticipated post folklore/evermore but then eras happened. Like she's totally losing it in some of these songs they feel like slam poetry set to music. It's not for everyone and definitely has less broad appeal but the bits I like i really like
i would respect it more i think if she had committed to being truly unmarketable. but she'd never genuinely do that. there's still going to be 7 different colored vinyls and merch and there will always be more more more! bc she wants her money and her streams
I feel like she was trying to keep her #cool #edgy #unhinged persona so that she could market to the swifties who believe her to be a great tortured poet, but at the same time she was trying to remain mainstream with the sound. i just think she has to commit to one or the other because right now it all just feels incongruous to me. none of what she was trying to do goes together

Okay I slept and now that I am more awake then I was last night lol I have slightly different opinions. I'm still neutral on most of the songs (I haven't listened to the second drop yet, you'll get an ask about that later lol) but I do actually like "but daddy I love him" and "who's afraid of little old me". Not her best work, and I do miss her older music, but last night I thought it was so much worse
i genuinely like "so long london" , "but daddy i love him", "i can do it with a broken heart" but it's dampened for me by their being surrounded by mid songs at all sides 😭 it's not even horrible it's just underwhelming. overall there were fifteen songs i liked out of thirty one. half of that album could have been cut

well yes of course it is. this song to me feels like an exile-esque duet between the two of them. the chorus is ctommy in exile waiting for tubbo to come save him. the verses are ctubbo losing hope in the image of lmanburg he was sold and trying desperately to cling on to it. the bridge is tommy again realizing that tubbos life went on without him. lol!
@tombees I need to know if you agree that Peter is a c!clingyduo song.

i think you're extremely correct about ts, and i kinda dont think she's ever gonna return to making music that has that special something the rest of her discography has... maybe she will, who knows, but i think that might be the case. midnights was also a flop for me. sigh. but at least we will always have rep/lover <3
that's so sad. the more i think about it the more i realise how much of her other albums i really love. like u said rep/lover, folklore/evermore, fucking RED and 1989 and speak now like.... what the fuck happened! she genuinely needs to be locked a way in a dark room for a while. with her guitar. and she needs to not be seeing the input of her audience online. and she needs 1 guy who's only job is to tell her when a lyric is bad

i dont mean to be rude. well ok yes i do but it's like. i dont know if she's explored a single new theme in this album. 31 songs and none of them...really.... brought me something i haven't gotten from her discography before. it really feels like an album that's about taylor swift, not about her life, but about taylor swift the concept that already exists. is this going to be all her post-eras music? has she fully finished self-realising her image and now shé will just rehash the same themes over and over and over again?

i feel like she had a hard time balancing her mature Mid Thirties major life event songs and these mystical, detatched from reality ones. And also all those songs about matty healy that she REALLY needed to write

i think im having a real mental break i just hallucinated a taylorswfit album concept
i feel like peter is another song that actually belongs to this album. theres something mystical about it. why didn't she run with this? why didn't she make a whole album about spells and alchemy (NOT FUCKING FOOTBALL) and fairytales as metaphors for her own life? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO REGAL . A RETURN TO HER CLASSIC MOTIF OF CINDERELLA AND ROMEO AND JULIET BUT WITH HER JADED GROWN UP PERSPECTIVE COMING OUT OF A LONGTERM RELATIONSHIPS WHERE SHE'S COME TO REALISE THAT FAIRYTALES AREN'T ALL THAT TRUE TO LOVE

Also qTubbo got a lot of Cassandra comparisons. Doesn't mean anything but it is interesting to see the reference pop up so much
florence's cassandra is so much better so qtubbo can be that one
