I am a mother of two children, living in Gaza, and under this ongoing siege, the hardest thing is feeling powerless in the face of my children’s most basic needs. I am Samir and my family consists of seven members, and my elderly grandmother lives with us, and I add that my aunt and her husband came fleeing yesterday. Their house was bombed recently and they lost their only son who was killed and had no guilt. He was young. He broke my aunt's heart and broke his father's back after his death. A few days ago, everyone started talking about a temporary truce in Gaza, and we were very happy about it, but a few hours turned all the scales. Imagine that my aunt and her husband were safe since the beginning of the war, and their house was safe and did not hurt all this time. She used to tell us as soon as the next truce began to go to live until another place was found for us because, as you know, our house has been destroyed since the beginning of the war. Imagine that these moments, which are considered the last in this war, were the most difficult moments for my aunt and her husband. She lost her home, and most importantly, she lost her only son. She does not stop crying.

Can we guys help her with anything? As you know, she will try to start her life from scratch. She has nothing and lost her son and has no money and her source of income was coming through his only son. Her husband is an elderly man and cannot work because he has been old. Now she is not aware of what she feels now because the pain of her son's separation still burns her heart. She punishes herself by not eating and goes to his grave every day and my father goes to bring her in the evening.

She is living through the worst period of her life. Her son was alone. In the last year before the war, she furnished him with an entire apartment and intended to marry him off and celebrate his marriage. Unfortunately, he was killed, the house was destroyed, and all her hopes and dreams were shattered by the missile. My aunt's story is part of the massacres that took place yesterday. Imagine that all these tragedies were for one family among dozens of families that were involved in the event.

There is nothing worse than what we are living in now, and I hope that a temporary truce will be announced because we can no longer stand it. I will now try with you to raise some money for my aunt this period. Please take this matter into consideration and help my aunt and her husband to start again because, as I said, they lost everything and have nothing as if they were created now.

I am Kholoud from Gaza. I no longer have a home, nor do I have any security. The war destroyed my home, and I now live in a dilapidated tent, but that's not the real pain. The real pain is that I am a mother who sees my children suffering every day without being able to do anything to save them. My children suffer from a rare skin disease (ichthyosis psoriasis), a cruel disease that causes their skin to crack, bleed, and burn with pain. They can't sleep, they can't play, they can't live like other children.

Their tiny bodies can't bear it anymore, and all I can do is hug them and try to hide my tears. $500 every three days, that's the price I need to ease his pain... but it's a sum I don't have, and I don't even have enough to feed them. 🕊️ Nadin’s Hope: A Mother, A Memory, A Future

Hello, my name is Nadin I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate. I’m a wife. And now — I’m a mother.

I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small design studio, of making art that told stories. I used to think about colors, fonts, sketches. I used to think about the future.

Then the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.

On October 22, 2023, I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home. 25 members of our family were killed — his mother, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, children. Entire branches of a family tree gone in seconds.

We were displaced twice after that. Everything we had disappeared — home, safety, routine, rest.

A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib. No stillness. No celebration.

But she came into the world quietly and beautifully. And in her eyes, I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.

Now, I spend my days holding her and trying to build a world around her that doesn’t shake with explosions.

We don’t know what comes next. There is no clear path. We are walking toward the unknown, step by step — with our daughter in our arms and hope as our guide.
