every single piece of mob psycho 100 official art without fail is like teru has scavenged up the ugliest patterns unknown to man and combined them into what is ostensibly an "outfit" and will now magnanimously grace you with some idiotboy pose he stole off of Vogue for Friendless Tweens. serizawa is deeply uncomfortable and doesnt want to be here and is surreptitiously wondering how soon he'll be allowed to leave. reigen is trying to make money off of his status as premium twitter dot com sexybait except he is somehow sweating his whole ass off in a room where the thermostat measures 50°F. dimple is existent. shou is there sometimes (cool), shimazaki is there occasionally (what the fuck?), and tome is there never (I am bringing out the guillotine). and the kageyamas are standing there in the back of the room being normal. every single one of these is like this

[Transcript of an omake from Mob Psycho 100:

Reigen: Ah, how's that lawyer I introduced you to? Has it been done? I see... your sender information disclosure request to the provider has gone through. I'm glad with that. The school has no choice but to acknowledge bullying is actually happening. No, no... I just thought it was odd that a child would be sent alone to a haunted location in the first place... I'm glad he came to us for advice on this. Exorcisms are easy, what's truly scary is what goes on between living people. ...No, no, it's me who's overstepped their bounds... He's enthusiastic about this, is he? Naturally. He had the guts to go into an abandoned building, after all. Alright, please call again if there's anything you need.

Serizawa: Who was that?

Reigen: Some primary school kid stopped by here on his way home. There was something off, so I asked him what was happening and found out there was some bullying going on. So... as a spirit specialist, I contacted the families of each kid. Feigning that I'd like to talk to some of the people involved in what looks like a scary haunting. I tried to talk to them, but their parents got upset with me. The bullies showed no sign of remorse. Staff at the school didn't even investigate the bullying. Not only that, they dismissed the fact it was a daily occurrence. That got under my skin... So I went searching through social media and found some excessively slanderous posts sitting on a secret website for that primary school. That's where our counter-offensive begins.

Serizawa: I was bullied at primary school as well.

Shigeo looks at him.

Reigen: Really?

Serizawa: Yes. In many ways...

Shigeo: What kind of primary schooler were you, Serizawa-san?

Serizawa: I... didn't have any friends, I guess. I gave people the creeps... I wouldn't move from my desk during break time. Not ever. How about you, Kageyama-kun?

Shigeo, thinking hard about this: I... tried my best not to use my powers at school. So I was often scared. Looking back, I suppose I was also bullied.

Reigen: ...Kind, introverted people are easy targets... You guys weren't weak, but there were truly weak people who took advantage of your nature... How annoying... I guess it can't be helped that the two of you were so reserved, but it is a shame. You guys could have had popular and rosy childhoods depending on how you used your powers. Well, doesn't matter how many times I tell you guys this, it just doesn't click.

Serizawa: So how was your primary school life, Reigen-san?

Reigen: Mine? It was, uh, very... fulfilling.

Shigeo: Fulfilling?

Serizawa: I imagine you felt like the center of the class, unlike us, right?

Reigen: Y... yup, center, sure... I feel like my seat was in the middle of the classroom?

Shigeo: Where you sat is irrelevant, no?

Reigen: Well, uh... Rather than being a leader, uh... I more had a charisma that made me stand out... I'd look deeply into things and act on them...?

Serizawa: Wow! So do your classmates from back then still rely on you?

Reigen seems to fall into despair.

Reigen: Er... well, my charism was more if-you-know-you-know, you know... If-you-don't-know-you-don't-know...?

Neither Serizawa nor Shigeo understand this.

Serizawa: I'd like to hear a story from back then.

Reigen: Well... to be specific? I put a lot of emphasis on tackling social issues? Rather than school life... yes, like volunteering? ...Which was valuable in teaching me independence? And influenced my current personality? Even though I was in primary school, my childhood was a nurturing time for me. There is evidence? To suggest that my time in at primary school was fulfilling? It is indeed not an exaggeration but a...

Serizawa: That's amazing! I respect that! Even as a child, you were already such a dependable person.

Shigeo: That's the first time I've heard this but that's really amazing. To think there are primary schoolers as self-aware as you were, Shishou. I'm jealous of your classmates.

This reaction makes Reigen sit at his desk, feeling small and ashamed.

Later, he is wearing a track suit and squatting down to collect trash at the park with a pair of tongs. Text reads, "After seeing their reactions, Reigen began looking for ways he could help."

Mob Psycho 100 NEW Omake⑩ - ENG

The new omake posted by ONE (aka ‘Bullied & Such Consultation Office’) on 2022/12/07 is now translated and typeset - the latter done by @lesbianlarxene over on Twitter.

was told that they would watch anything as long as I was the one to recommend it and immediately decided to use my powers for evil admirable benevolence. of course :)

they really like dimple for some reason. aligns with his track record of inexplicably earning the undeserved trust of children, I suppose. his superpower.

boys kept commenting "imagine you were the principle of this school" during the s1 shigeo-teru fight

got the "ritsu seems like the older brother!" comment again, the exact comment which I somehow manage to get every time I try to watch mp100 with anybody despite doing literally nothing to prompt it. I am afflicted with the curse

teru has now become known almost exclusively as "hair guy"

actually im not sure they even know what his real name is

I was worried they weren't really enjoying it but they kept grabbing the remote and turning it back on every time I would pause it to like eat or something. which I assume means they like it?

they correctly predicted when dimple worried that shigeos body would be defenseless while astral projecting that shigeo would let dimple possess him in his place!! awesome!!! W for smart little guys W for dimple enjoyers also

their mom started watching it with us when we were in the middle of mogami arc and I had to sit there like. uhhhhh hi ma'am this is actually a really nice and positive show im not a corrupting influence on your children I promise

got up to the end of the marathon episode when his house burns down and then I ended up having to leave immediately afterward so um. oops?

I don't even post on here anymore cause I'm busy having newer and cooler(TM) mental issues ("interests") but if I'm being honest I do sometimes miss the mp100 cast so intensely I could die

Mixed up Tsubomi ramble... Mostly my depictions...

I remember when my friend asked me why Tsubomi looks so sad/angry/unimpressed in my drawings. The truth is she isn’t really striking any emotion or expression unless she has something to react to. She just looks like that. A little bit like Mob maybe. However, she isn’t like that in her younger years. In my drawings, Little Tsubomi looks more expressive, carefree. She'd still have the same face whenever she's idle, but it's quite rare for that to be seen and/or it would be less gloomy/more softer.

Or...maybe she always looks unimpressed because she is unimpressed. Unenthusiastic about her life when some would say its almost the 'ideal' life to live. Almost always surrounded by 'friends', beautiful appearance, boys like her, etc. She wishes to lead people away from her without having to ruin her reputation and/or be the laughing stock, and live what most people call a normal life without getting overwhelmed and always under social pressure. I dunno.

I don't think she has any friends she truly trusts or is close with. She's been distant with Mob for years. The anime adds that she tried to be supportive to Mob in that marathon, (trying to cheer for him as he ran), meaning she still views him as a friend, maybe. Other than that, I don't think she's intrigued by her other friends. Maybe she finds almost all of them boring, or just not matching her vibe.

We don't have a lot of background about Miki and/or Miki and Tsubomi's relationship, but I see them as not-close friends or schoolmates. One day Miki finally decided to ask Tsubomi for help, and Tsubomi accepted. I think Tsubomi thinks that Miki is a nice girl, and even though they're in between being only schoolmates and friends, she still cares about her.

I feel like Tsubomi and Mob are extremely similar. I don't know how to put it in words, but I feel like they are. Maybe I'm going to make another drawing to express this one day.

a comic where serizawa and reigen get into a tense conversation about counsellors and moms (and maybe actually about other things, too).

this is a bit experimental, and may be a bit rough around the edges. i mostly did it bc 1) i wanted to explore reigen and serizawa's flaws and relationships, 2) try to make smth out of serizawa mom's OVA drama cd gag, 3) explore the idea of courage, again. (i think it's also hilarious that reigen just insists on not telling seri abt his lack of powers despite telling mob and tome(after like a month??). and seri just knows and rolls with it. despite sincerity being his whole thing, i think he's good at accepting lies.) some dialogues are also intended to have extra weight with context from reigen separation arc and final ???% arc. i'm not sure if they came across well. but if not, i hope you enjoyed it anyway!

red simultaneously makes shigeo look mildly edgy while also the heart vibes speak to his emotional core. agreed 10/10 no notes

everyone else is wearing costume/formal wear but shou has showed up in a hoodie and sneakers bcause he is my dear sweet irreverent bastard + his sneakers look like they cost 2000 in us dollars (they are ugly) which makes me feel like both kageyamas are collectively daydreaming about pushing him in a fountain right now Or maybe down the stairs bcause I don't think this would actually hurt him but I do think he deserves it for this (affectionate). if kagemama was here she would have a heart attack

So to recap,

Teru has a teru teru bozu motif (his name)- the weather charm paper dolls, that's why mob tells him they're the same for having a paper thin outer shell of an identity, and that's why in confession arc Teru is the one to wake mob -the paper thin outer shell of the Mob-Shigeo duality- up. It's also why he gets balded (bozu meaning bald/monk) and why there's no rain in confession arc.

Shou has a moon rabbit motif (his lackey's names + other)- fable about kindess/self-sacrifice, that's why he is shown to have similar abilities to his father as he tries constantly to reach him and is clear about his sense of responsibility to stop him from fucking up and saving him from his madness, and then in confession arc Touichirou explains how he is going to sacrifice himself in front of Shou.

Ritsu's name means law and when written differently means percentage, that's why in confession arc he reaches his first 100%. Then says he'll "confiscate" the bouquet.

Reigen's name is a pun on being blessed by the gods/gods making themselves known, and has meanings spirit and prosperous, and when written differently means heartless commoner*, that's why in confession arc he is possessed by Dimple, and is himself the one to successfully stop ???%, by confessing about a side of him he hides and dislikes because of his bad qualities.

And Dimple, well, of course, the reveal of Dimple's return is shown by none other than dimples on Reigen's cheeks.

Kageyama as a name has meaning of reflection/silhouette/shadow, in confession arc its about both Mob and Shigeo.

Mob and Shigeo are different readings of the same name*:

Mob's name is reference to being a background character, in confession arc he is pushed to the background and struggled to take back control.

Shigeo's name has meaning of thriving and husband*, in confession arc....I guess you can call it thriving.... and of course his driving force is his love for Tsubomi.

And of course, Takane Tsubomi's name means flower and her surname is a pun on "unattainable goal"*, and in confession arc she if gifted a flower, and the arc ends with a rejection.

I'm so bewildered by how Shou gets put in official art/merch and not Tome???? Tome's got 2 whole episodes dedicated to her and a spinoff she is WAY more of a core cast member than Shou,,,,, no shade to Shou but no way they put him in over her I dont get it.
