Part 5

Day 13-15 Younger Version of Character

Ok so this one was the one I was most excited about! I decided to draw Robert and Lucy as kids as I headcannon that they were childhood friends. I have a sort of story below that explains my reasoning if anyone is interested.

Ok so I did the math since Lucy was 32 and Robert was 35 in 1939 they would have been arond 8 and 11 in this drawing (1915). I also headcannon that Grandpa Lou and Robert's dad were friends pre WW1 probably ever since they were kids or teens. Anyways as they got older and had their own families they would meet up once in a while to catch up. But because of life they weren't able to for awhile (In my headcannonfor my drawing its been 6 years since Grandpa Lou and Robert's dad had seen eachother last explaining why Lucy hasn't met or remember Robert). So when the war started both Grandpa Lou and Robert's dad being drafted, Robert was sent to live with Granny Lee and Lucy for the Summer of 1915,1916,1917 and 1918 where both Robert and Lucy became just friends. Both kept in touch via pen pal and would also visit eachother and it wasn't until both of them were in their very late teens and early 20s that they started dating and got married having Ernest when Lucy was 22 and Robert was 25 in 1929.

It's dumb but I would love to write a full story for this one day.

Day 10-12 Gender Swap

Thought I would draw Ernest and Collette as Ernestine and Claude, it was still really hard to color Ernestine's hair but it was fun to draw!

Day 7-9 Season

Wasn't sure what was meant by "Season(s)" but I thought I would draw the first winter that Ernest, Collette and Muddy spent in Grangeville since in the show they breezed past their experience in winter (which I mean I get because they have to focus on the main story at hand).

Don't know what was harder, coloring Ernest's hair or drawing/coloring the club house.

So this is the first time I have ever drawn Durand, mainly because I found his hair hard to draw and I hate him with every fiber of my being so I drew him in the same pose that he was in after he got his butt kicked by Grandpa Lou.

For Day 1-3 I decided to draw Mrs and Mr. Guibert

Main reason is during the show you don't really see them together at all except for a few seconds here and there but for the most part they just be doing their own thing

The 2024 Papa Bear Awards

Y'all know I generally only use my tumblr for Papa Bear Awards related content. So if you're seeing something from me it must mean....

It's time for the 2024 Papa Bear Awards!!!!!!! Yay!!!!

A few years ago we added the multimedia category to the awards to showcase and recognize all the amazing talent that Hogan's Heroes content creators add to the fandom outside the written work. We scoured the internet for content and, let me tell you, it was quite the task. Too big a task for our little committee to maintain on our own. So this year, we are asking all you content creators (meme-ers, artists, podcasters and all the rest) to submit their own works.

If you would like to submit your work that was completed in 2023 to compete in the 2024 PBAs, please leave a note here, or email us at papabearawards@yahoo.com.

Also if you have works posted on AO3, Wattpad, or whatever other fanfiction platform is out there, and you want it to compete as well, you must submit it to us. All the works on FFN are automatically entered.

Oh you know what that is true, I appreciate your opinion, in AfterMash I would have love to see his development adapting to his hearing loss (or if he did lose his arm) and learn that even with this new challenge in his life he is still a capable priest (becausehe struggles with that in AfterMASH. But instead what they did was they fixed his hearing with surgery and I forgot if Father Mulcahy still had some trouble with his hearing after the surgery but it's not really mentioned after the episode (I think). But it bothered me how they were able to "fix him" so easily and there could have been so much story and character growth if he were to remain deaf. Whereas if he had lost his arm the writters wouldn't have been able to pull of that stunt (or they might of tried who knows) However in the context of just M*A*S*H Father Mulcahy loosing his hearing is very impactful and i wouldn't change it. Might have to rewatch AfterMASH to make sure the points I made are valid even though it's not a very good show.

The fact that literally nobody else finds out about Father Mulcahy losing his hearing. Like I get why he keeps it secret but fuck. FUCK! It says so much.

The self sacrifice but also the reverse; all he ever did was listen and now he has to do something else, or at least change how it’s done. But also nobody notices. NOBODY NOTICES! Nobody listens to him fuckkkk

Honestly, now I know this sounds cruel but I think it would have been more impactful if Father Mulcahy lost his arm (specifically his right hand) instead of his hearing. My reasoning for this is because he uses his right arm a lot whether he's praying, writing and boxing. Not to say that him loosing his hearing wasn't impactful, because it was. But if you watched AfterMASH the problem was too easily fixed and if Mulcahy lost his arm, his contribution to the side plot that was occurring would have fit in perfectly.
