Our boys. Niko on viewer’s left, Ryder on the right. We adopted Niko from the Humane Society in 2007. In 2013, some friends of ours found little Ryder abandoned on the side of the street. They took him in, but were unable to keep him. He had a case of ringworm, so we took him, treated him, and now he is a happy and lovable puppy. These are our boys and we love them so very much

And their journey continues. As time moved on, the two got closer and closer. Tommy surprised Jason by taking him to Key West for his 21st birthday, where Jason enjoyed his first legal drink (he still has the souvenir glass!).
They traveled together to California, Chicago and New York together. In 2007, they officially moved in together and adopted their first puppy, Niko.
Over the years, they went to concerts, plays and baseball games together. In 2010, they bought a house together, which may be in fact be a bigger commitment than marriage. Two years later they adopted their second puppy, Ryder.
And now, after many years of love and happiness, and thanks to a recent law change in the state of Florida, the two have officially tied the knot.

New York, New York
Before they had even met, Jason had made plans to go back to New York for the Christmas/New Year's holiday. But now, Jason had Tommy to consider. So, after officially dating for only a week or so, Jason asked Tommy if he would like to come with him to his hometown of Mahopac, New York.
Tommy said yes, though it did cause him to have an uncomfortable conversation with his family, especially his aunt. See, Tommy had never not been home for Christmas before. So now he had to tell his family that, not only was he going away for the Holidays, but he was going to New York with the boy, not girl, he had just started seeing. Tommy's family was surprised and excited for him, and his aunt gave him her blessing once she was able to meet Jason for the first time.
The two went up to the Big Apple and had a great time, for the most part. They saw the Christmas tree at Rockerfeller Center, visited Central Park, and Jason showed Tommy around his old stomping grounds and introduced him to his friends.
Tommy felt weird being 1,500 miles away from his family on Christmas. Although a little strange for him, he enjoyed getting a chance to meet and celebrate Christmas with Jason's Jewish friends.
Tommy wanted to go to Times Square to see the ball drop for New Year's, but instead they went to Jason's ex-girlfriend's house (HI MARCIA!), where they got into their first fight (completely unrelated to not going to the City). Jason will never live down not letting Tommy witness the ball drop in-person while in New York for New Year's.

The First Date. Finally, after months of waiting, Jason finally found the confidence (sort of) to approach Tommy about going out. On the day he was leaving for a five-day vacation to California for Thanksgiving, through an Email, Jason asked Tommy out on a coffee date (though neither of them drink coffee). Not looking for love at the time while focusing on school, Tommy discussed it with some friends and eventually responded "sure".
So, after a club event the following week, Tommy strongly hinted that he was hungry and wanted to get something to eat, hoping Jason would officially ask him out. Jason eventually got the hint, and the two went to Denny's for their first date as a couple. This would become their anniversary, December 2, 2004

Jason, the Wallflower. About a month later, it was time for their club's Halloween party. Jason had previously bought a costume, but decided he didn't want to wear it and was prepared to go to the party dressed as a college student. But Tommy, who had been working at FAU's Health & Wellness Center, offered to give Jason a costume from a recent event. Jason was more than happy to take him up on the offer, even though he had no idea what the costume was. The two went up to Tommy's office, where Tommy gave Jason his costume...a flower! So, dressed up as a pink flower, Jason went to the Halloween party. It was a relatively average party, until Tommy, who had just eaten a chocolate cupcake, smiled in front of Jason. Jason commented "It looks like you ate a bunch of soil". To which Tommy sarcastically retorted, "I guess that's what happens when you go down on a flower". The two laughed and laughed, and it was at that moment Jason felt something special was happening.

How it all began. It was September 22, 2004. Jason had recently moved down to South Florida, and was meeting up with some new friends at Florida Atlantic University to post flyers around the campus for a club he had just joined, announcing a Social the next day. Tommy had gone with two other members to Target to get supplies. After a significant amount of time had passed, one of the members waiting at FAU called Tommy to see where he was.
Tommy told him that he had just gotten into a car accident right outside of campus. Tommy was in the left turn lane, waiting to turn into the University. Behind him, a driver cut-off another car, and to avoid getting hit, the driver swerved into the turn lane. Unable to stop in time, the car smashed into Tommy's brand-new Hyundai Accent. The impact was so strong, it pushed Tommy's car into the SUV in front of him, which then hit the next car in the line.
As soon as Tommy told them that he was in an accident, most of the group waiting at FAU, including Jason piled into a car and drove over to the scene. They parked and walked among the crash site to meet up with Tommy and make sure he was alright. That was when Jason first laid eyes on Tommy, and was instantly struck by Cupid's arrow. While his seven-month-old car was totaled, Tommy was fine, but a little too preoccupied to notice Cupid.
