After listening to the new version of Jeff the killer, by Pastra on YouTube, just had to draw the guy. I love how he's described but I don't know if I drew him accurately.
Also idk two shits about lighting so don't mind that lmao.

I made these for my friends, but I thought that might be helpful for yall as well! hehe! Now whenever someone asks for storyboard tips I can throw this at them!
I drew Ragatha as if she were (what is probably best known as) a Mexican rag doll.
These are literally just called "rag dolls" in spanish ("muñecas de trapo"), and I just called them "muñecas" when I was growing up but when researching for this piece I found out they're also called "muñeca leles," and "Marias".
But I believe for most of the world they're just called "Mexican Rag Dolls" due to famously being from Mexico, specifically from the Mazahua and Otomi people. (If you're interested in these little gals; remember to buy from authentic sources!)
I thought it would be fun and cute to make a design for Ragatha as one! I had fun with this piece and all the photos I used for references brought me back to my childhood for a bit.
I believe the reason why Nimona turned into a Phoenix specifically in the final scene of the movie was not necessarily a (purely) artistic choice, but rather because Nimona wanted to live.
We know that Nimona can do pretty much anything, including turning into a fictional dragon and spew cereal instead of fire.
And she’s smart, we know that, too.
So I wouldn’t put it past her to be able to figure out a way, on the spot, to not die while throwing herself full force against a cannon that she knew was gonna kill her.
She knew she was gonna die, so she turned into a being that would always come back to life, because she wanted to live.
Going so absolutely crazy over Nimona as a character because she's so, so fucking smart. And it's hard to see her intelligence over the chaotic demeanor that we're shown throughout the whole movie. But she's so smart. Because she appears to take on the abilities of whatever creature she turns into, like how a bird flies or how a fish breathes beneath the water. She can do that, she knows she can do that, she's known for over a thousand years what she's capable of. And when that cannon was aimed towards the city, she knew she would die if she stopped it. She knew it would kill her. So she turned into a Phoenix. Not a dragon, not a rhinoceros, not anything else. A Phoenix. A creature known for one thing; rebirth.
