Test of an idea for my radio brief, in which I had to create a response to the radio 4 show Saturday Live. The show featured poet George the Poet, so I looked to recreate one of his poems in a Stefan Sagmeister style.

Picture sound, Jack and Nathan created the soundtrack using noises made by a bike, so I decided to use the bike again in the video. I used the bikes mechanisms to give the sounds an almost literal visual representation.

Supporting publication for my sound of the summer, I tried to keep the theme of a trip running through the book as well as keeping to the sounds that were played in the piece.

Tough one, started thinking about what you do when you look for things or even if your lost. Then I thought of another one of Jez's classic metaphors; "follow the breadcrumbs". So how else do you follow something these days than on twitter, so please start following the breadcrumbs on twitter, it seems they have some strong views on ducks.

CHICKENTOWN: FINAL CUT
SUCH AGGRESSIVE. VERY SOUNDTRACK. MUCH BALLS. WOW.
The final cut of a collaborative video between tomwilliams4545 and myself. Based on the poem of the same name by John Cooper Clarke, the film takes influence from the miner’s strikes when Margaret Thatcher was in power during the 80s.
The video conveys the emotions of the miners by having a dirtied, grubby miner’s hand write out Clarke’s poem in charcoal, while Thatcher narrates the ineffectiveness of Trade Unions. As the narration fades and Thatcher receives opposition from the Commons, the film fades to black, suggesting a change in the mentality of the working class and a desire to fight back. This is exemplified by particular features changing; the colour scheme is inverted, the miner is now writing on a black background, opposing Thatcher and there is a change in the pace of the writing and audio. The art style is influenced by Gary Hume, who primarily uses pastel colours and paint for his outcomes. By combining this with a brick wall, we were able to represent the picket line. The second audio track is designed to be more aggressive so as to represent JCC’s punk e

My design entry for the BFI book cover competition for Akira. The idea behind the design is that Tetsuo has always been in Kaneda's shadow, even though Kaneda has always looked out for him, Tetsuo feels babied and powerless.
Tetsuo's shadow is far greater than Kaneda's to represent the contempt and anger he holds inside him. The larger shadow looming in the background also represents the impending destruction that will come from Tetsuo's gain of power and eventual collision with Akira.
Sorry for spoilers.
