She laughed at the question as he made his way towards her. “Half of these may or may not be from Honeydukes.” Tonks smiled sheepishly as she motioned to the parcels and gratefully let him grab the ones that were slipping from her arms. “Oh, you bet I am! It’s not all bad. It’s actually kind of amusing! Around the 30th time though it starts to get old...”

“Ready for another year of first years getting their heads smacked with broomsticks?” He asked with a smirk as he walked over to her. “I have to say,” Harry started, reaching out to help her with what she was carrying. “I don’t envy you at all. That must be a headache.”

All thought of anything other than ice cream eluded her the minute Tonks took her first steps onto the worn cobblestones of Diagon Ally. After stowing her to-do list in her rucksack, she made a straight beeline for the shop. It was a risk choosing a cone -- she usually ending up accidentally splattering it on the pavement and more often than not another scoop was waiting inside for her. Probably proof that she should make her visits less frequent. After some small talk with the cashier, Tonks made her way outside. The air was still warm, but she could sense that fall crispness ever so often in the wind. Her eyes swept over patio, almost instinctively. It was full, mainly made up of parents and their children enjoying a treat after all the shopping for the school year and Tonks couldn’t help but feel a twinge in the pit of her stomach. Whether it be missing childhood moments or longing for something she didn’t think she’d ever be able to have, Tonks couldn’t quite say. Almost immediately after, she spotted one of Hufflepuff’s Beaters, Blake. “Wotcher, Blake!” She walked over to where he was sitting, adjusting the weight of the bag on her shoulder. “Can’t fault you there. I reckon Florean has one of the best ice cream spots. I’m pretty excited myself, if you can’t tell,” She beamed, taking another lick of her ice cream to solidify her statement. “Is this an ‘i’ve finished all my school shopping’ celebration or motivation before you get started?” 

Blake threw himself down into one of the chairs outside Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour and let out a deep sigh as his bag of books slowly slid to the ground. “Finally.” He mumbled to himself before licking his chocolate ice cream cone then looked up when he noticed someone near him. “I swear I wasn’t talking to myself … just really excited for the ice cream.”

tonks rather disliked her given name and considered her mother as a fool for naming her as such. she insisted on being called "tonks" instead. she doesn’t express any rejection when others refer her as "dora", a shortened form of the given name she detested so much. this may haven been because her father, who used this nickname often when addressing her.

past/bio: when tonks’ mother noticed her daughters hair change color less than a day of being in the world, she knew she was a metamorphmagus. as such, tonks would come to enjoy changing her looks frequently. she was known for using her gift for lighter purposes, such as experimenting with her appearance for entertainment. it also became a handy tool when she trained as an auror. she was one of the youngest to complete her training and become a full-fledged auror, an impressive feat and one that could be attributed to her incredible will. this was evident with her non-verbal spells, including conjuring the patronus charm. despite this, tonks has difficulty controlling her magical abilities when she is unhappy and is rubbish at household spells. tonks enjoyed her time as an auror, it was a job she had dreamed of having, but after six years of service, she felt something was missing. her happiness and interest waning. unsure what that something was, she decided to take a leave of absence. only a few days of leaving her post, she was contacted by dumbledore, who extended her an offer of a newly opened hogwarts position as flying instructor. this is her second year in this position.
