yes absolutely!

one thing I really disliked about the renegades trilogy is how nova is sometimes presented as a “strong female character” BY denouncing femininity, while she could be the same level of badass while still liking “girly” stuff. she grew up with Honey! Harper! like she’s around dresses and makeup and everything, and yet dismisses it as gross girl stuff - like her hating dresses at the gala and “boy talk”. I still love her character but it just seems stereotypical, and I personally picture her dressing in a feminine way and having killer eyeliner

okay yes im making a lyrics post. and what about it. specific lyrics and just songs in general that remind me of some of the renegades characters :)

“I made you God because that was all I knew how to do, but I don’t belong to anyone” (David by Lorde): NOVA AND ACE. it’s so perfect, Ace was novas only “real” family and she felt like she had to do anyone in her power to keep him close, even doing things she morally and personally didn’t want to. in a sense she belonged to him because she was controlled by fear of being alone again. in her mind he saved her from the shooter, so he becomes an idolized savior figure in her life and she worshipped him because he was all she had left. when she met Adrian, nova realized that she existed outside of Ace’s vision of her. that she didn’t belong to anyone.

“Should’ve listened to them, don’t you know what I am?” (Renegade by Aaryan Shah) a little on the nose but it FITS OKAY! definitely nova or Adrian, leaning more towards nova during the final battle when Adrian and his team sneak into the cathedral from the catacombs and Nova puts Adrian to sleep to torture him. It’s SO perfect bc Danna is yelling at him to not run to Nova, and Oscar and Ruby were in full support of Nova being nightmare. They all knew and he didn’t listen

“You were born reaching for your mother’s hands, victim of your father’s plans to rule the world” (BLUE by Billie Eilish) Adrian. He lost his mother and getting her justice is an undercurrent in everything he does from his obsession with nightmare to the sentinel. he lost her when he needed her, and is still reaching in any way he can even if that means hurting people to get her back. And as his adoptive dads and the council grow more corrupt with power (aka agent n) Adrian’s trust in them starts to deplete, as he is in actual fear of what they could do - like let Nova be executed. he’s their son and it’s his job to fulfill their legacy but at the same time he doesn’t agree with it! he sees the corruption and is victim to it, as they threaten to kill the girl he loves.

“Stepped out the swamp to the motherfuckin stage, cut my mic off cuz im about to misbehave” (Nosebleeds by Doechii) finally a happy song! This is so Nova, especially post-trials. She’s from the dingy subway tunnels and is borderline impoverished in her abandoned Wallowridge house, and yet got insane national attention and became a big public figure. she didn’t hold back who she was and argued with the council (which everyone else is terrified to do) while garnering respect from people. she “misbehaves” and won’t apologize for it, such an icon

i am SO glad you asked the only thing in my mind is headcannons!!

1)Nova was ALL over the news after the renegades trials, everyone commenting on her crazy fight and unconventional attitude. of course, Sketch’s team and the council see all of this (but nova cuz she couldn’t care less about the news). it’d be so cool to explore people’s opinions of nova cuz it was said a lot of members of the renegades started looking up to her! (archenemies)

2)okay another one would be Hugh + Simon’s pov of nova and Adrian, like at the gala or after cosmopolis park / just big moments in general! they’re the literal og nodrian shippers

3)just extra content of nova being badass like this girl NEEDS more fights scenes and black widow it up

im just brain dumping but I would love to see your interpretion!!!

nova 100% has a six pack

I’ve been thinking about the heights in renegades, Adrian’s team specifically, so here are some of my headcannons!!

SKETCH’S TEAM:

Adrian: 6’2 (canonically tall)

Nova: 4’11 (canonically really short, head reaches to about Adrian’s shoulder as shown in the shooting scene)

Oscar: 5’9 (described as “not a big guy by any means”; around average height)

Ruby: 5’5 (no canon description, slightly shorter than Oscar)

Danna: 5’11 (described as “so much taller [than Nova]”, gives real tall girl energy)

THE COUNCIL:

Captain Chromium: 6’4 (his whole thing is being big and muscular)

Dread Warden: 6’1 (no canon description, gives slightly above average vibes ;))

Tsunami: 5’2 (pretty sure she is described as tiny next to the Captain, and as having a “little frame”)

Thunderbird: 5’9 (tall girl vibes, must have a big enough back to support those wings)

Evander: 6’0 (canon, Nova described him as a “six foot leprechaun”)

im such a kinesthetic person that i have to associate characters to physical things, sooo here’s what scent the renegades characters give off (aka what they smell like)

Adrian: pine (canon, described as “warm and spicy”)

Nova: artificial vanilla and florals (lives in the same room as Honey, definitely picks up all of her cloying perfumes if Honey herself isn’t the one spraying)

Oscar: cologne and various foods (he gives me axe body spray vibes but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it’s expensive cologne. and he’s always eating)

Ruby: strawberries (canon, when Max moved into her room it was described as smelling like her “strawberry scented shampoo” and popcorn)

Danna: coconut or jasmine (very playful and floral, both of these remind of butterflies and the nectar of flowers)

we NEED more renegade council content in the fandom !!! they are barely explored in the books but i hold on so tight to the tidbits - tsunami is terrified of public speaking, thunderbird and blacklight are close (them whispering on stage together during the agent n unveiling), captain chrominum is the closest to adrian, thunderbird is a huge human rights activist, and so much more that im forgetting,,, i need to see this used !!

even tho nova and adrian got together eventually, i literally love how after nova rejected adrian at the carnival he backed off and treated her normally instead of being weird and pressuring her. truly a respectful king
