On the Topic of BLM (because apparently that’s still a fucking debate):
So, at this point in time about 75% of my life is currently dedicated to BLM which is why for the most part I’m going to try to keep this tumblr free of most political things and leave that more to my personal social media. I also want to provide an area for POC to not be overwhelmed with the bullshit that they normally have to deal with in real life.
However, I do want to have a masterlist of resources available for people who might have limited access to such things. Obviously none of you know who I am to be following my personal media so I did want at least one thing on here. I’ll reblog this once in awhile to keep the resources towards the top of the page and, of course, if you guys have any other resources to add I would love you to put them in.
Again, this won’t be a main topic on here because I want to make sure you guys have a place to take a step back from it all if you are a person of color who is exhausted and disheartened from a fight that should have never even been a fight, but I also want to make sure that I am putting out something on every channel I know.
Important Things to Note:
- This is mainly for my non-black followers and protest goers. If this is part of your everyday life please don’t feel the need to interact with this at all. You are more than entitled to a break.
- Every organization/media source I’ve put down my family and I trust with our donations/information/time. However, there are always things I might have missed so if you see an organization that shouldn’t be on here or a source giving bad information, let me know.
- I can’t believe I have to say this (and I truly don’t believe it applies to y’all bc everybody I’ve interacted with seems so amazing but you never know): Black lives matter. Always have. If you can’t agree with that then leave.
Here y’all go (stay safe):
If you want to Donate:
NAACP Legal Defense Fund
George Floyd Memorial Fund
Black Visions Collective
Bail Funds (By State)
National Bail Fund Network
Black Lives Matter
Campaign Zero
The Movement for Black Lives
If you want to Protest:
How to more safely protest in a pandemic
Some Twitter advice on how to be safe during protest if it gets violent (from people who have actually been to those kinds of protest - also make sure to read the entire thread)
Rally List
Curfew List (IMPORTANT: Please read this one. It’s a google doc where you can look at your state and see not only the curfews but other information such as what weapons are used at protests in that state and how much potential bail is. Just be sure to fact check whatever information you decide to use)
Emotional and Physical Safety in Protests
If you want to Petition: (Note - I’m recommending some change.org here for petitions, but I have heard they are not a good organization to specifically donate money to)
Justice for George Floyd
#WeCantBreathe
Stand with Breonna
#WeAreDoneDying
The Movement for Black Lives
List of petitions
If you want to Learn:
How to be a white ally, according to activists
Some books to read (disclaimer from me: I haven’t gotten to read all of these, but I checked into all of them and they seem really good. Just Mercy is one of the ones I have read and to this day is a personal favorite of mine. Highly, highly, highly recommend)
Check List for White Allies Against Racism
nappyheadedjojoba’s Youtube channel (she has a lot of different videos but I think her opinions on race in the US are 100% worth thinking about)
Don’t be afraid to do your own research! For my younger people still learning: Part of good activism is not just taking recommendations from people but also having the initiative to do your own research. Many oppressed groups (in this case black people) don’t have the time/energy to educate everyone. Nor should they have to. So make sure that you take some time to google things and explore links on your own.
Misc:
This amazing tumblr user made a YouTube playlist where the ads donate money to BLM charities and crowdfunds. This is the post and the link there. A good option if you don’t have a lot of money to donate.
John Boyega’s protest speech
In general, the Movement for Black Lives has great events and resources you can use
Contact your local officials
Remember to vote if/when you can.
Take time to take care of yourself. Please.
This is emotional. And frustrating. And scary that we have to do this over and over and over again. But unfortunately we do have to do it because it has proven to be a problem that won’t be solved unless we shout until the world listens. I know you guys are the type of people who are probably already doing so much for this cause, but it never hurts to have more resources/education in your inventory.

When they offered Percy godhood, they gave him a week to decide.
Percy stood before the gods on Olympus, and as they promised to grant him a wish, he looked to Annabeth. Their eyes locked long enough for her to say goodbye in her head. He looked like he belonged there. He looked like a hero.
Poseidon was the one who suggested giving him a week.
Annabeth was silently grateful. For so long, she’d been preparing herself to watch him die at the hands of the prophecy. Now, she would watch her best friend, her Percy, walk out of her life forever.
Please stop scrolling, I have cancer and I need help
I never thought it would come to this but I need to ask for help.
My name is Percy, I'm 21 and last year I was diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera (a slow form of blood cancer) as well as many other things that have rendered me disabled. One of which, also being SVT, a heart disease that I was born with and had previously had surgery for and was deemed 'cured of' until last year I had an episode that left me in the hospital for several nights, and with a heart monitor for months.
I officially became disabled last year after a traumatic brain injury that has left me with short term memory loss, seizures, a cataract, a facial scar, and a crack from the bridge of my nose to the top of my skull following my eye brow bone.
I am unable to work and have been working on a disability case for the past year, after being formerly denied after applying too soon with my diagnosis still not being officially diagnosed yet. And with things JUST NOW finally making progress after getting a social worker, I don't have any hope of an answer or any type of income.
I am a transman, gay, poc (though white passing after being bullied into skin bleaching which I now regret and unfortunately having my native ancestry forced away from my life).
I was homeless before I was lucky enough to have found an unofficial foster family who has unofficially adopted me into their family. My biological family is abusive and I am currently in the process of cutting them from my life.
Right now, the only thing I do have is EBT (food stamps) and I buy food for both myself and my boyfriend who lives with me. He is also disabled, and unable to work, and between the two of us we barely scrape by.
Right now, I haven't been able to have cancer treatment in over 2 months due to lack of money, as well as no medication and other treatments that are LITERALLY NEEDED FOR ME TO LIVE.
I am genuinely growing weaker and weaker by the day, and my adopted family has undergone some serious problems that have left them unable to support me currently.
I am begging you, if you can't send me anything PLEASE spread this so I can raise enough money to get my life saving treatment. Thank you for reading this, and ignore my deadname attached to my PayPal account.
